Shadowstorm held out on accepting outsiders into her family. Her original plan had been to only accept the mates and children of her descendants as full members of the clan. It took several days of reasoning from Frostflower and pleas for playmates from Stormflower for Shadowstorm to finally relent.

The pretty Skydancer hatchling caught Frostflower's eye initially. As entranced by her coloring as he was, his mate was far more interested in the hatchling's sharp intellect. Her warmth and wit won over Stormflower, and that was that. Hecate joined the clan.
