And here is his current lore. Note: Include Athame somewhere. (In Mamamouse's clan)

Gingersnap is a very friendly dragon with a good sense of humor. Despite this, he's never fit well into clan life. Most dragons complained he goofed off too much, or about his knack for getting into trouble, usually in the most bizarre ways. The only dragon who ever seemed to want him around was named Athame, and she'd known him since he hatched from his egg. She was like a mother to him, and though the rest didn't care about him, she always welcome him with open arms. He'd travel around all over Sornieth, and would occasionally visit his adoptive mother and tell her stories from his travels.

Traveling was fun and interesting. He got to meet all kinds of other dragons, and he put on shows with his abilities, which was a great way to earn a living for himself. But when he wasn't being loud to try to attract a few more audience members, Gingersnap was a very quiet dragon, often walking around completely unnoticed. He often overheard dragons talking about him, and it was much the same as before. While they thought he was entertaining, they didn't value him much as a person. They all thought him a silly fool, usually expecting he'd hurt himself sooner or later. But this didn't bother him; he was always quite used to it. He became content with this life.

And then Aramoana came.

He was a special dragon, an oddity in himself. He saw what others did not. To him, Gingersnap did not appear a fool, but a very gifted dragon. Being so uniquely colored, Gingersnap noticed the purple and red tundra appearing at several of his performances. And at one such event, Aramoana decided to finally approach him.

"Hello. My name is Aramoana. Pleasure to make your acquaintance."
The odd formality took Gingersnap by surprise. "Uh, hello. Nice to meet you. I'm sure you already know my name." It was rare for anyone to want to speak to Gingersnap very much.
"Yes, Gingersnap. Very fitting, given your colors." He gave a slight wave, apparently dismissing the topic. "I've never much been good at idle chitchat, so I'll get to the point. I'd like to invite you to join my clan."
"Ah, no thank you," Gingersnap replied, trying to be polite. "I'm happy traveling by myself and putting on my shows." He figured that was the end, and started to walk in a different direction. It was better this way. For both of them.
But the purple tundra stepped ahead of him, making Gingersnap have to stop. "Please, at least consider my offer?" Well, Aramoana was nothing if not persistent.
"I already did. And, I'm not interested." Gingersnap stepped back and started to turn in a different direction, but Aramoana just cut him off again.
"Why ever not?" There was a note of disbelief to his voice, though something about it sounded slightly comical.
Gingersnap quietly sighed. This dragon was clearly not going to give up so easily. "I've been in clans before, and it's never worked out. No one's ever wanted me, and I always come back to this. They didn't know me, and you don't, either. They invite me to entertain the hatchlings or something, say they want me to stay, and they never do. So I may as well just stay here."
"I could use your same argument to say that you don't know me, and maybe I'm different than those others. I've been watching you, and you're not worthless or a fool, as some others have said. You're a very talented individual, and I think you'd make a wonderful addition to my small clan. So now, I want you to set aside your previous stance and assumptions, and properly consider my offer."
Gingersnap was a bit taken aback. Never before had someone spoken back to him that way, especially not to so determinedly stand up for his worth. His adoptive mother had sometimes defended him, but that had been different. So he did stop to consider. If this tundra was so persistent, then perhaps he really did mean what he said. Maybe he did really want Gingersnap after all.
"Well?" Aramoana inquired after a few minutes had passed.
Gingersnap thought, and chose his words as carefully as he could. He found himself smiling as he spoke. "Well, I don't think you're going to take no for an answer." A grin from Aramoana confirmed this. "What could it hurt? Sure, I'll come with you back to your clan."
"Excellent." Aramoana stood up, because apparently he'd sat down at some point while Gingersnap wasn't paying attention. "Follow me, then."

* * *

At some point they'd started flying, and before long they were at a cave, which Gingersnap was led down in to. There were dragons of all colors, all shapes and sizes. But Aramoana didn't introduce Gingersnap to any. He merely gave a few friendly waves and passed them by. He led past a few tunnels and through a couple more, until at last they went into a branching path that opened into a wider area.
One area was a bit separated from the rest, and mostly clear, with a small bookcase with books in it, and a couple of electric lamps on top, though both were off. A nook higher up the wall held a comfortable looking nest in it, which was evidently where Aramoana slept, as it had a lot of fur that looked like his coating it. The larger, main area had a lot of bio-luminescent plants growing along the walls and floor, and some sort of glowing substance dotting the ceiling, which appeared to be reminiscent of stars. A small light grey and purple nocturne hung from some sort of rope that had been strung across the ceiling.

"Ninetynine." The nocturne looked when Aramoana said that. Presumably, it was her name. "This is Gingersnap. He's going to be staying with us." Aramoana had a smile on his face like he was proud of what he'd done.
The nocturne, Ninetynine, did a small gasp, before jumping off and fluttering down to them, and landing on Aramoana's head. She appeared to be examining Gingersnap from her perch.
"Gingersnap, this is Ninetynine. She's the other member of my clan."
He nodded his head. "Nice to meet you, Ninetynine. So, who were all those other dragons?"
"Another clan. We're on good terms with them, and since we're such a small group, we decided to just stay here together. And, after all, they did take me in when nobody else wanted me."
So they were in the same boat? With how friendly and confident Aramoana had been, Gingersnap hadn't even guessed that there would be those who didn't want him around. "Well, this seems like a nice enough place." He decided to admire the pretend stars again, but was a bit startled by the little nocturne suddenly jumping into his fur. She crawled around, apparently enjoying his fur, before popping up on top of his head.
"Yes, he's good, I like him."
"Glad to hear it. Guess we'll be needing another bed."
Gingersnap smiled. "I'm basically a bed. So it's probably not a big deal." His joke landed, as his new friends both laughed.
"Welcome to the group." Aramoana affectionately touched his head to Gingersnap.
