note | note | note........................................................... Cradle |
|
Cradle no longer show her face, though one can sometimes see, in the right light, a faint trail of smog emerging from her many layers of masks. Her condition is slowly eating her skin away and turning her flesh into a strange incorporeal darkness, revealing the bone underneath and swirling as mist. With time, it will likely claim her life as it reaches her vital organs, but Cradle still have a sort of desperate hope in her chest. Cursebane have, at least, been able to ease her plight a little. The once bright-minded Imperial no longer speak, and spends much of her time writing away at rather dark, but admittedly skillfully written, poetry. The process has claimed her voice and turned it into an echoing and ethereal gurgle, that frankly skares Cradle shitless. At least she's stopped her nonsensical muttering. BACKSTORY Cradle was never an optimistic one, but when she came to the Metalborn clan as a hatchling, she still had a lot of vitality, drive and and determination in her young little body. She had plans, dreams, desires she was not willing to give up, and had relentlessly pursued the rumor of a clan of curse curers that resided somewhere in Earth territory, tenaciously holding onto the hope that they could cure her. She had been born sharing her mind with multiple other personalities, each but her own belonging to one of the many victims of her mother, who was her own clan's assassin. Had Cradle somehow absorbed the incomplete, fragmented memories of these other dragons, or was she merely insane? The answer came ruthlessly as, a few years into her life, whatever was devouring her mind, begun to bit by bit devour and dissolve her face. Cursebane does what she can for the solemn Imperial, but there isn't all that much that can be done for her. The issue, after all, is emotional - what eats Cradle is the devastation of the unfinished lifetimes of other dragons, the loss and insult. The others must heal on their own. Sirenia has acted as somewhat of a counselor to her and her many voices, which helped a little, but what doesn't want to heal never will. Cradle has become increasingly bitter, but she has never once complained. She pay her dues to her clan as a heavy labor worker, grateful for the job and a chance to not... think about stuff. Thinking has become more and more confusing to her recently. There is a new voice. A strange, fragmented voice. It claims they are much the same. Mahlaanalok, it calls itself. Mahlaanalok. She never told Sirenia. .... it. Speaks. Of strange things. "We see you, human." Nonsensical things like that. |
