Biography

The Warrior Seamstress

When Ambricor was a hatchling, she was separated from her clan and wandered, somehow avoiding danger, until she was found by a group of Wildclaws living in the Viridian Labyrinth. The groups instincts kicked in, and seeing a dragon from the Scarred Wasteland, they clawed and slashed her frail body until she was barely alive, stopping only after realising that she was too young to be an enemy, although they did not offer her any help or apologies.

Ambricor stayed on the outskirts of the Viridian Labyrinth until she was healed and then left. She travelled through the Sunbeam Ruins, the Shifting Expanse and and the Ashfall Waste until she reached the Windswept Plateau, hoping to use the winds to fly her way back to the Abiding Boneyard, but miscalculated and ended up in the opposite direction, the Cloudscape Crags of the Southern Icefield, where she staved off hunger by stealing food from one of the many clans living there. This worked out for her for a while, but she was eventually caught by the clan and was imprisoned, her escape made impossible by the icicle chains wrapped around her wings until a sympathetic member of the clan removed the enchantment, gave her some food and sent her on her way.

Now a young adult, Ambricor spent some time living in the evergreen forests of the Snowsquall Tundra, where she met and befriended a juvenile Pronghorn Stomper. She had long given up hope for finding her way back to the Scarred Wasteland and rejoining her clanmates, who, if they were still alive, would have most likely moved out of their old lair in the Abiding Boneyard. Besides, she had her Pronghorn Stomper, affectionally named Nimbus, and really had no reason to go back.

One day, Ambricor saw a strange party of dragons passing through the Snowsquall Tundra. The group was made up of a black and purple Mirror with a Storm Seeker perched on her shoulder, two female Imperials, one black and one pink, and a sleepy-looking male Bogsneak. She followed them for short while, and was about to head back to her small den when the Storm Seeker spotted her among the trees and let out a loud cry of alarm. Before she could react, she was pinned down by the two Imperials, and was once again captured. The Mirror immediately realised that she would not be a threat, and decided that the wilds of the Snowsquall Tundra was far too dangerous for a young Wildclaw, and despite Ambricor’s protests brought her and Nimbus to the Starfall Isles.

When they arrived, the Mirror, who had since introduced herself as Mirria, offered Ambricor a place to stay in the clan, or, if she didn’t wish to, an escort back to the Scarred Wasteland. Ambricor eventually decided to stay, helped by her recent (and surprising) friendship with Seer, the clan’s unhelpfully mischievous clairvoyant. She and Nimbus have found their place, with Ambricor’s hidden talent for weaving and sewing she has become the clan’s seamstress and tapestry maker, but in true Wildclaw fashion she’s always ready to fight if the need arises.
