B I O G R A P H Y

Brakkas joined the young clan as an adult Guardian drawn to Palmello. He and Nuka trained together to better be able to protect their respective Charge. His light-hearted joking nature got the clan through many of their early rough spots, and he was well liked by the hatchlings as one of the first dragons to spend time telling them stories and playing pranks with and on them. At the time, he was often excessively stressed by Palmello's frequent disappearances and unusual questions about others and about himself. The question, "Where did your fur go?" was among the most common with a close second of. "Where did you lose your other colors?" He was baffled by the young Seer, but did his level best to always keep her safe. He spent long hours with Brakkas and Pemma trying to determine how they could help the young dragon only to come up with giving her a space of her own and keeping an eye on her as best they could. He didn't care for it, but she grew out of it in time. Sorta.
He began to understand the questions she'd asked him with such frequency as a hatchling when he and "the boys" were out exploring the Mire one day. He found a strange scroll that has seemingly been lost and, ever curious, began to read it aloud to Nuka and JellyWader. It seemed very arcane and he purposely mocked some of the words and mispronounced them. This caused something to go hay-wire and he was soon swept up in a strange light. When is abated he became ill and terrified. He rushed to the clan shouting that something was wrong with Palmello. It wasn't long before he found that it wasn't her, but him that was changing. She greeted him with an even, "Oh, it is now then," and welcomed him inside to rest. She, Pemma, and Sioned, the closest things they had to healers at that time, stayed with him for the night as his form shrunk and his instincts for his Charge we severed. It was not a pleasant thing for them to watch, but it was how Palmello had expected him to be from the day she met him.
When he awoke he was confused at how large his clan mates appeared. When had his Cha- Palmello become so large? They explained what happened, and he did his best to take it in stride. His Guardian brothers mourned for him as they could not imagine being severed from their Charges in such a way. Palmello continued to regularly check in with Brakkas, but instead of a sense of duty and drive to protect her he felt only his love and friendship with her. It was a change that took some adjusting to, and even though she is no longer his Charge he and Palmello have remained close. He knows he would still defend her with his life with or without the magic that previously bonded them. Not long after his patterning changed due to a prank on Nuka gone wrong. It was a much less emotional affair, and honestly somewhat expected.
When The Shade attack came he, as one of the last to fall, had already heard of what had happened to Palmello and, in spite of their best efforts to keep him restrained, he was too powerful. He easily broke free of his den-room, destroying several walls in the process, and joined the fight. In spite of his small size, he was still a warrior of his clan and, with his powerful Tundra jaw he caused egregious injury to many a foe before a fighter that was his match wore him down enough for him to rediscover himself in The Twisting Crescendo.
Often the first on the scene when something is afoot, Brakkas devotes much of his time to keeping the lair lively with small pranks and a quick joke here and there. He spends time helping others who have changed form learn their new bodies and provide emotional support for the changes. Since Spirea took over his is largely retired from fighting, but can still be spotted with his brothers quite regularly. His largest issue with the change was learning how to identify his clanmates by smell as that had not been a strong identifier for him before.
