Biography
Leviathan
Aerya is a monster of the deep. She dwells in ocean trenches and the deepest, murkiest bogs. Anyone who runs into this goliath of a guardian usually has one thought on their mind when they see her - "Run". And rightfully so, Aerya is, in almost every way, a monster. She's bigger than most Imperials, for chrissake. Even dragons who've lived their whole lives in the Sea of a Thousand Current's trenches seem to turn tail whenever they catch sight of the bioluminescent runes that light up her long, slim body when swimming.
Aerya, for the most part, is actually quite the reasonable dragon. She has made acquaintance with many on-shore merchants and caravans, and she sells them the treasures thought to be forever lost in the sea's depths. She hoards any Jewelry or treasure she finds, everything else goes to the caravans.
Aerya does not live in a clan, she lives by herself in the deepest part of the Leviathan Trench, where a centuries-old shipwreck lies in rest. This place is her charge, and any dragons who find themselves near the old ship are killed on sight. No exceptions. She doesn't let anyone know where she lives, as to keep the ship's location a secret. Though, there are often dragons who DO find the wreck, in search of the Pure gold Statue rumoured to be hidden within. Only, there is no statue, and if there ever was one, it is long gone. Though Aerya continues to guard her home, and her hoard. Statue or no statue.
Deep within the abyss, one can only see the dark, and the light from the flickering spots of bioluminescent fish as they swim slowly by. Nothing in between. Here in the Abyss, everything is black and white, no in-betweens. You either live or die. No such thing as being both. Here in the abyss, it's a game of cat and mouse. With the food so scarce and the light so dim, every little piece of food and material is necessary to survive this harsh environment.
Because of that, many monsters lurk within. They are waiting in the murkiest parts of the waters, waiting for the right moment to claim what is rightfully theirs. And when you do become a meal for these apex predators, there is so escape. You are dead. Not alive.
You know this very well. You have been surviving within these waters for years. Born here, stayed here. You have tried many times to try and reach the surface, but something keeps pulling you back. Something that isn't yourself. Something that isn't the water. Something... that is toying with you. Wanting to watch you suffer. Something that is waiting for that perfect moment, when you are at your weakest, to finish you off once and for all.
But you are not sure what it is.
By now, you are extremely weary and meek, and unsure of yourself. You don't even try to eat the glowing fish that swim right in front of your snout. They are right there, easy prey. But, you're refusing to be the predator. Rather, it feels like... you are the prey.
Nearby, a giant, old shipwreck surrounded by many whale carcasses is embedded into the ocean floor, the very place that, for some reason, you are unable to leave. The very place that keeps holding you back. Thus, you have taken shelter within the boat and used it as some sort of hideaway for yourself. But you could sense, deep within yourself, that is what the thing holding you back exactly wanted.
All of a sudden, a deep shadow looms over you. All you could see of it is a large figure of a guardian and dim, bioluminescent runes trailing alongside it. They are swimming much like a shark, and don't look like they are in a hurry. As soon as you don't see the shadow anymore and you think that the figure has left, they would appear again, in the same exact spot that you saw them before. It takes you a while to realize that they are circling you.
Panicking, you attempt to leave the shipwreck to save your life, but once again, that same pulling sensation as many times before you tried to leave that shipwreck holds you back. You aren't able to leave. You look above you to realize the figure is coming closer, still circling. You now could see that the guardian is female. A horrible sensation crawls up your spine when you realize what it was doing. This was the thing that was holding you back this entire time. And it's hungry.
As soon as those thoughts crossed your mind, the female guardian suddenly barrels down at you, maw wide open, and you could just barely see how truly large she was before everything goes black.
You are dead. There is no inbetween.
