Why is it so cold? Why is it so unbelievably, freezing cold? January doesn't know. At least not yet. He is going to find out. He looks around, he sees darkness everywhere. There are specks of light. These appear to be, what do you call them? Icicles! January remembers, they are glowing icicles! He grins, he is happy with himself. He remembered something. Suddenly, he hears voices. January is scared. What will he do? He tries to hide but there's nowhere to go. Trapped, January shakes with fear as the voices get louder and closer.

"What are you doing here in the dark, January?" one of the dragons asks. January just stares. He doesn't know what to do. Is he in trouble? Who are these dragons? Do they know him? One of the dragons lights a torch. January jumps back in fright. He was not expecting light! He looked at the three dragons staring at him in wonder. One was a small imperial with several layers of cloth. The imperial had shiny bumps and displayed vibrant colors. Next to the bumpy dragon was two black guardians. None of them looked cold.

"Are you okay January?" asked one of the guardians.
January gasped and stammered, "Who-who are y-you dragons? How-how do you kn-know me? How di-did I g-get here?" The dragons gave each other worried glances.
The imperial cleared his throat, "Um, January, we are your clan mates. And you live here. You always have."

____NO! He could not be living with these dragons! Were they lying? Why did he not trust them? Were they enemies? He couldn't tell, but this didn't feel right. This was all too sudden. A home? Here? He had to get away from here. He had to think. He couldn't remember anything, but he knew he must. Why was it so cold, but the other dragons didn't notice? January went from a tiny ball to a giant, bulky, monster. The dragons backed off in terror.
"January? Are you ok-" the guardian started. Before she could finish, January ran past them and up a tunnel. He ran right through a lair filled with dragons and into the morning air.

____It was even colder on the surface. Snow and ice was everywhere. It was snowing, and January knew it was going to get worse. How did know that? He felt it in his bones, a storm was coming from the North. If he was going to run, he would have to run fast. January began sprinting away from the storm and the lair. He kept running, faster and faster. He saw an ocean up ahead. How was he going to get past that? Suddenly the ground beneath him fell away. He had ran right off of a cliff! He closed his eyes, preparing for impact.

____He felt his wings spread wide. His body jolted upward, catching the wind. He was flying! It was a wonderful sensation. Beneath him there was nothing but cold, empty ocean. He was far away from the lair now. The shouts from the dragons were small echoes. He continued flying until he was ready to collapse. Ahead, he saw blackened land with smoke and lava emerging from it. January felt the air getting warmer as he approached the land. Dragons seemed to be busy at work, shaping metal into armor and weapons. January liked the warmth that spread throughout his body, but this still didn't feel like home. January would continue to travel throughout Sorneith to find his "home".

____"Is this home?" January thought to himself. Perhaps. It felt nice. The air was cool and had a sensation of love in it. If it was home, wouldn't he remember it? No, this is not home. However, I am happy here. Maybe this isn't home, but it can be. He will make it home! Perhaps he didn't like his old home anyway.
"Yes," he thought, "I will make this home." Home, in the Draggle Clan.
