These skills that Deathwind teaches the youth are taught in a nurturing and caring way so that the skills that are learned are thought of as a game rather than a life lesson. Deathwind was also taught in this manner and when the needs of the former clan were challenged Deathwind was able to rise to the occasion and prove the noble spirit within. Deathwind fell in love with a visiting envoy named WifiBoy. They immediately settled down with a nest of two eggs. When the nest hatched Deathwind was devistated because WifiBoy chose to return to his clan and as with all trade agreements take one of the children with him. WindWifi journeyed far from home and then went even further finding a new clan. Colin the dragon that chose to stay at home with mom reached adulthood and then she too felt the calling of becoming an envoy. However, Colin decided to keep in touch with her mother to remind her that she is not alone. Deathwind continued on with teaching and instructing the clan deciding to give up on love, however that was not to be the case. Love found her again in the form of a Fae dragon named Hazelnut. This whirlwind romance produced several offspring before it cooled and Hazelnut left Clan Big Al for adventure elsewhere. Deathwind was hurt and debating taking her vows to serve the gods, when Leaona placed a taloned claw on her shoulder. Leaona spoke quietly to Deathwind so that she had to really listen to hear. "You give everyone you know wings and not just the ones on there back. They feel that having your faith in their dreams too, makes it possible for them to succeed. That is a rare gift and a true blessing as well as a curse and true heartbreak." Leaona gathered Deathwind in a tight hug, then released her and walked quietly away. Deathwind thought long and hard about what Leaona had said as she looked out into the night. By time the sun had risen above the horizon, she decided to stay... Deathwind had a passing fling with a visiting envoy Cory. As before as soon as the eggs hatched, he was gone. Deathwind was not heartbroken, this coupling was known ahead of time to mearly be for getting the eggs. Deathwind was suprised however, a short time later when Asta walked into her cave and handed her a dark wiggling bundle of talons and teeth stating, "Enjoy your new mate." Asta then removed her wing from the hatchlings mouth and exited the cave. Deathwind and the hatchling stood staring at each other for a long time...neither one moved or batted a eye... |
