Siv is one of the clan’s foragers, responsible for finding plants and herbs that grow out in the wild. While the plants they bring back are mostly used for food, there are other purposes they can serve, depending on who gets ahold of them. Siv’s unknown past raises many questions but their sensitivity to the Tangled Woods comes in handy, especially for their job.

- Adult Biography -
Siv was found by Mordo, in a pit, deep in the woods, unconscious and barely breathing.

Mordo, unsure of what exactly had happened, brought them back to Ausha and Dak. Needless to say, both were confused when their resident, excitable hunter came back, uncharacteristically solemn with another dragon on his back.

Dak was unable to confirm what exactly had put the strange mirror in such a state. All he could figure out was that this particular dragon had some unusual physical characteristics. The mirror's whole body was covered in a strange, tar-like substance, except for the hands, feet and tail tip, which seemed to have no skin at all, just exposed bone. Mushrooms sprouted from their shoulders, their glow faint and flickering. A shadow rune was engraved into their hide, like it had been carved into their flesh with a knife, and stitches lined the wings and body.

When finished with his analysis, Dak admitted that he was way out of his depth on the matter.

Unsure of what to do, Ausha and Dak decided to keep the stranger with them for now. They placed them on a small nest of pelts, near Pleo's cavern, just in case the tundra was needed in the middle of the night. The next morning, the mirror awoke, looking dazed and confused.

When Pleo and Ausha found them awake, they approached, careful not to frighten them. Pleo and Ausha then tried to explain what had happened, how they'd been found and asked their name and if they knew their way home. The mirror simply cocked their head and made a small sound in the back of their throat, dark eyes– almost too dark– wary, yet curious.

After trying to coax answers out of them for a good ten minutes, the dragons looked at each other in confusion. "Maybe they can't talk?"

While the clan debated on what to do with the strange mirror, they left them in Mordo's care, who seemed to be their favorite in the clan to be around. Mordo, who had become fond of the new addition, didn't mind in the least. Eventually, he pleaded with his leaders to keep their newest addition permanently and Ausha and Dak couldn’t find it within themselves to disagree.

Mordo gave them the name "Siv,” which they took to immediately with a happy growl, tail wagging in excitement.

After a couple weeks, which by then Siv and Mordo had become attached at the hip, Ausha decided to give Siv a relatively easy job, to test how much they could handle.

So she gave them the role of gatherer.

Siv, delighted to finally have something to do other than follow Mordo around, though Mordo definitely didn't mind, took to the job with a determination to show these nice dragons who had taken them that they could be useful and a hard-worker.

To their immense surprise, Siv found that they were excellent at finding good spots for gathering, especially plants. Even more surprising was that they found that they could understand the Tangled Woods, in a strange, foggy sort of sense. Like the trees were full of little unseen spirits, directing Siv to good gathering locations. It was in one of these spots, full of glowing flowers and mushrooms, where Siv found a wounded gloomwillow fairie.

Siv brought the creature back with them and managed to convey to Pleo that they wanted her to heal the tiny little creature. Once healed, the small guide decided to stay, hanging around Siv and guiding the dragon when needed. The two became extremely close and the little guide, whose name was learned to be Cheka, eventually becomes the dragon's translator.

Which is immensely helpful to the rest of the clan.

While Siv is normally as sweet and energetic as Mordo, there are times where something will set them off, their emotions growing wild and rampant, and their form will become unstable, turning to sludge and tar. This continues until Cheka reinforces the rune on their hide with the magic of the Tangled Woods.

The first time it happened, everyone was horrified and worried that Siv was going to melt before their eyes.

Learning that there is, in fact, a function to the strange rune on their hide, the other clan members have taken more care to make sure the rune itself is not damaged and that these strange spurts of strong negative emotions do not become common. Though due to the mirror's reckless and curious nature, it can be a challenge.

Besides that and being somewhat feral, Siv is normally a fun and eager dragon and they constantly get into trouble with Mordo, dragging Cheka along for the ride. Dak is not exactly thrilled about this, though the same can't be said about Ausha.

Siv likes all of their new clan members, well, most of them, but they do have favorites. Besides Mordo, Siv is rather fond of the nice, old, tundra lady with all the pretty plants and the guardian with all the cool feathers. They also really like the mysterious skydancer with all the scars, but he isn't around much.

He reminds them of their own mysterious past and the empty space in their head where they think memories should be. Siv's emptiness is only mitigated with the fact that, while they have no idea where they came from, they feel a strong connection with the Tangled Woods, almost like they're part of it. Or it's part of them.

Sometimes, in the rare moments when they are still, they can feel the land breathing in sync with something- something else. Something bigger and more powerful.

But Cheka says that's ridiculous and she's usually right, so it's probably just their imagination.

Right?

- Additional Notes -
➤ After deciding that they really liked Ausha’s birdskull mask, Ausha had one made for Siv and they wear it proudly.
