______Potiri used to be a head engineer named Kelagor at a lair in The Lightning Farm until the accident. It was soon after Kelagor left his old home that he changed his name to Potiri, and his Sparkling Goblin is all that remains of his old life. Potiri was taken into the Celobra Nature Sanctum after fleeing his old home. __T H E___D A Y__ ______ I ran my eye over the machine. Many of my apprentices were doing the finishes touches. I cleared my throat, making my presence known to those in the room. "Is it done?" "Yes Kelagor sir." The room echoed with their voices. I nodded approvingly. "Make ready the machine then! Razakin himself is coming to watch the first test of our machine." They chorused assent and set to work as I went to greet Razakin, leader of the clan. "They are preparing the machine." I bowed my head submissively and gestured with my golden wing. He stared at me with unblinking eyes. "This better work Kelagor. The Stormcatcher himself is eager to see this work." My head shot up at these words. "The Stormcatcher?! He's- Any how, I'm sure this will work." Under Razakin's gaze, I hastily added "Without fail." He sniffed, then turned to face the outcome of a year's work from me. "Turn it on." "Yes Sir." I turned and roared the signal to the underlings. As they scurried out of the way, I strode towards the lever, feeling Razakin's eyes boring into my back. I placed my claws on the lever. And pulled it down. Instantly a large, soft whirring sound started to climb. Then the sound chsnged to a throaty clashing roar of machinery. What the- a loud boom sounded and my vision went bright light to black. A static noise in my ears. Bright spots in front of my eyes. Ash falling soundlessly from above. I stiffly rose to my feet, stumbling away from the wreckage. Pain in my foot made me look down. I was shivering uncontrollably. I stared numbly. White? I flicked my tail into view. The long golden fur that usually coated it was white. I twisted my head to look at my golden wings. White. Before I could process this, Razakin stumbled to me, mouth open shouting but the buzzing filled my ears. He seemed mostly unharmed. Warm liquid trickling from my ear. Slowly the buzzing faded. "-done! This happened because of you! If you dare set your here again, I'll have the Steelhound tear you apart!" I stared numbly at him. "Do you understand?! Out!! You are banished. Exiled!! Gone!!" I stumbled out of there. I looked back once, still shivering. White smoke hung in the air, blotting out the sky. In the smoke I saw lightning and heard the Ridgebacks that flew within. And I left. |
