Biography
"Forward, my friend, forward! Pick yourself off the ground and let's go!"
As his name suggests, Ardal is courage personified even if he is a dragon. Very little scares him or proves enough to slow him down, not when glory and victory might well be on the horizon! Whether he's alone or with trusted allies, Ardal gives his all in every skirmish with beasts and other dragons, and often acts like it's a fight to the finish. Even when it's just him left standing on the field Ardal doesn't let his solitude deter any chance his fellows have probably given him to make a surprise attack that turns the tides.
But don't think just because he's unbelievably brave that he's some kind of crazy too! No, even when a fight is on edge of breaking out, Ardal is using his keen mind for strategy to calculate how best to overbear and outflank those who think just because he's an Imperial means he's going to fight fair. To fight by the rules suggests honor and loyalty not just to one's ideals but to the safety and wellbeing of others. The kind of values only so many dragons have, even in the Shadow. He'll bow his head in respect and do things by the book in the sparring yard or the arena but out in the wilds? Watch out! If anyone's going down, it's definitely you.
By all rights, Ardal is a knight in everything but name, a beacon of hope to everyone but the dastardly and a legend... okay that last one's stretching it but you get it! He's not quite famous just as he's equally infamous, neither of which are obstacle enough to keep Ardal from traveling beyond his lair's borders to escort weaker dragons to places abroad, fighting beasts and stepping up to the plate when a champion is dearly needed.
Just be careful when you visit him in his quarters. He has far too many weapons in his collection and it's making the healers nervous. How he got that Vikings axe, we have no idea... then again, it might not be all that safe to ask.
