The Rim Runner

Marbella was borne in the clan of Sharkularity. When she left she had not yet found her name, which was unusual for someone her age. She did not have many personal posessions and only brought the most essential. The weather was nice as always as she started her stroll towards the beach. She watched how the landscape seemed to encircle the Sea of a Thousand Currents like the horizon encircled the world. It was really another universe in there. Colourful fish sprung trough the surface sending rainbow glitter that made rings as they returned to the sea. She picket up her pace and ran along the rim.

She passed the coast of the Tangled Wood more carefully. Her flight had a long history of quarreling with the shadow flight, and she was not about to make matters worse. As she entered the Scarred Wasteland several days later she picked up her pace again. She had not yet found her name. The sun was rising and the day would be hot. Her water skins were all filled up, so she welcomed the sun and smiled as the flowers danced in the wind of her passing.

"Hey, Marbella! Wait up!" She had already ran in the Windswept Plateu for 3 days. Her muscles aced from running every day, but she ignored it. She looked around as she ran, but saw only two orange females who was already side by side. She slowed down to a jog to let them catch up before she asked why they had called her that. "You have been running alone for a while, so we thought we'd join you for a while. Your glittering hide looks like the surface of a glittering sea in the summer, so we thought it was appropriate. And your eyes are yellow, too. It's pretty" it was the green-eyed orange dragon who said that. The other was clearly a windie, as she had kept up with her pace in full armour.

And so they ran alongside for the rest of the day, at a slightly slower pace than she had been keeping the other days. Sol was not as good a runner as herself and Orange, but she did her best and seemed to enjoy it. She spent the night and the next week in their lair, the Windflower. When someone asked her name she would reply "Marbella" as naturally as if it was her birth name.

This dragon was used as a project parent for the Windflower Clan, and is always welcome to visit us. She can even bring a mate! Her daughter, which has been named after this dragon, has become a world wide know model as well as a role model for hatchlings. When they ask who is her greatest inspiration in life she always answers "my mother". She tries to write regularly.
