Ara

Ara is a shrewd coatl, one who usually accompanies brightsoul or Ivette whenever a deal of monetary value is going to be made. She has a eye for the greatest value and the lowest cost, while being able to sniff out any shady dealings involved. This explains a lot about her, as she has a tendency of dissecting other dragons of there personalities. Why brightsoul is the leader he is, why Volcanus likes to spar, and so on. This can lead to some of the newer clanmates to stay away from her at first. But after being around her for awhile, one can realize that she has no malicious intent from this. In fact, she brings up her observations to help them realize what they have and offer advice to help with the more negative qualities. She won't press any dragon further if they do not want it, but she can be vengeful. More then once brightsoul had to remedy a situation before she was able to apply her revenge. Her revenge often ends with a long clean up and sometimes scars the recipient. This only applied to her previous clan, as again brightsoul does his best to remedy situations to prevent revenge. She finally resents the process of exalting. More of a personal thing, and while she won't stop her hatchlings if they choose to go she can't help but enters a day or two of sadness when this happens. Funny enough, she gets along well with Sucre.

History: Ara is a runaway. Her old clan was one of the more devoted clans in the shadowlands when it came to exalting. She herself was planned for this, but she would later find it was through lies. She was brought up that being exalted meant you would be a angel of sorts, fighting for there deity and come down once a while to reconnect with whoever they wanted. There was no mention of how it was permanent, and was lied to for the most part about this. But through her growing up, she caught the farce and challenged her old clan leader to expose the truth. Being a recent adult though, most already knew of this except for the current hatchlings. She realizing this, she tried to take the hatchlings and run with them, but was beaten before being forced to flee.

She continued to run and run, before finally ended up in light territory. Her wounds and exhaustion forced her to rest, and was fortunate to be found by Azalea and Mint. Both of them decided to bring her back to there clan and giving her a place to rest. When recovered enough, she told her story to brightsoul and sucre. Sucre confirming the clan she came from, brightsoul sympathized with her and offered a place in the clan as long as she could pull her own weight. She agreed, and grew nearly furious when she learned that brightsoul's clan was known to exalt. However, she calmed when they were honest about what it was, and how that those that were to be exalted were treated almost as royalty before ascending. She disaproves of the practice and will tell it to those who are willing to listen, but since has become a welcome addition to the clan.
