Biography

BLAISE
Blacksmith

Fiery | Proud | Determined

Mate to: Aidan
Familiar: Derain

185.png1293.png362.png7581.png
KCSW3tS.gif A determined but extremely-short tempered dragon, Blaise was never inherently talented at smithing despite her desperate love of working metal. To overcome this perceived weakness, she forced herself to continually practise at it to develop her skills even from a young age, since she was shunned from her own clan because of her impulsive and fiery temperament. Consequently, her skills became well-known across the Wastes even as word of Aidan's innate gift at metal working spread. Curious, she visited him to observe him at work and was horrified at his careless, light attitude towards it despite having been given everything any metal smith could have wanted. She became resentful, perceiving him as having stole the gift of smithing that should have been rightfully hers.
Frustrated, she challenged him to a contest of skill which Aevitas only entertained since the clan's demand for armour was increasing. However, after a week, the tension was threatening to dissolve the clan, and Aevitas demanded the pair to cease the competition. While packing her equipment in preparation to leave, Aidan asked Blaise why she seemed to hate him. This was the final straw for the fiery-tempered dragon, and she lost her temper, accusing him of taking his talent too lightly while others slaved away for it. Encountering her unleashed temper, a clan mate thought that she was attempting to attack Aidan out of jealousy, and reported it to Aevitas. He confronted the pair and requested her to leave immediately, but to their surprise, Aidan claimed that it was a simple misunderstanding and begged the patriarch to let her stay a little longer so he could learn some of her techniques. Aevitas reluctantly relented.
Begrudgingly grateful for not being expelled from a clan, which would have damaged her already-tetchy reputation, she began to work together with Aidan, exchanging designs, ideas and finally their own developed tricks of the trade as a frosty silence became close friendship.

Blaise is fiercely defensive, headstrong and impulsive. As a result of this, most dragons prefer not to seek her out for her company. However, she seems ignorant of this, spending most of her time in the forge.

Talent? There's no such thing. That's an excuse for your own inadequacy- your worth is determined by how hard you work, that's all. If you rely solely on what you were born with, you might as well stay a hatchling.
