When the breezes were first created, there was an imbalance in the world. Soon after, it became clear that it was not possible to keep the scales from tipping with nothing to keep them in check. Thus, a void was created.. An age old enemy of the wind deities, Pliant is in all ways ordinary and unassuming. Unfortunately, not only is she unaffected by the breezes' abilities, she sucks it up like a black hole and uses it to channel her power. While keeping out of common dragons' way, her dull appearance makes it easy to blend into the populace of Sorneith, making it extremely difficult to track her down and eliminate her. In thier first encounter with this entity, early in their creation, they forced a battle and left it wounded severely and injured, Amaria almost to the point of death. It is said that a breeze can only die in battle, and injuring a deity is no mean feat. However, Pliant took on all four of the seasonal winds at once, and won by a landslide. It's been 30 years since their first meeting, and the deities have yet to return to their former state of health. Granted, Amaria's regeneration is slightly faster, but nonetheless, as hard as it is to injure a breeze, it is as hard and slow to heal. Pliant has had free reign over these 30 years, and the years have been dull and without seasons, much to the dismay of the common dragons. All but the eldest ones do not know of a time where the sky wasn't an overcast gloom. Those who witnessed their battle claim that the skies rocked with thunder and the very earth shook, a howling wind rose to a deafening crescendo as the Windstealer cracked the core of the universe with an earth-shattering split and entered the Abyss. Using the Abyss as a medium, she changed the space-time fabric of the world, eradicating seasons and tides, changing Sorneith forever. Despite her miraculous abilities, she has a personality of her own, and wishes that she had not been created so plain. Amongst common dragons, she feels slightly envious of their beautiful and bright scales and feathers and secretly wishes she could be a normal dragon just so that she would not look so... |
