____Cerin was born into an ice nest on the coast, where he was a very untroubled and carefree hatchling. He played with his siblings and danced through his days, happy as could be. Nobody saw the cannonball coming, but it missed its mark of the nest and struck about 20 meters away, where Cerin was sitting on a rock, watching the waves. It hit his seat, and he was blasted off with a broken wing.

____His family ran towards him, but the Pirates of the Black Rose, a nefarious group of seafaring male Wildclaws who plundered their way through the sea between The Southern Icefield and the mainland, were already there. Cerin was in ropes, his torn wing dripping blood. The scoundrels demanded 100,000 treasure for their son's safe return, but even when his parents and siblings piled up their hoards, it wasn't near enough. Cerin was thrown onto their ship while his family watched, helpless.

____Cerin was clothed in pitch-black garments and forced to swab the deck, day and night until eventually, the captain realized that he had great potential as a fighter. He then appointed Cerin to the job of ship assassin, where he would be required to jump into the water and swim to an enemy's ship, taking them by surprise.

____The Skydancer was, indeed, excellent at this, and he even got up a bit of a name for himself as "Zaïre, the merciless assassin!" Eventually though, as the captain's missions got more and more demanding, he realized this was not how he wanted to spend his life, so jumped ship one night and left. He swam for hours, luckily having built up some endurance when he was a pirate. Finally, he reached the Starfall Isles, where he found a small Clan that welcomed him graciously.

____Now that his wing is healed, he takes long solo flights every day. He also likes swimming and battling it out in the Coliseum. He dropped the name Zaïre and now calls himself Cerin, which in Gaelic means "little dark one". The only reminder he keeps of his pirate days is his dark clothing. He does not like to speak of his adventure, or really at all, so most of the other dragons find him too quiet. He works as a strict trainer and teaches the other dragons how to duel. He is, without a doubt, the clan's most valuable warrior, although nobody likes to admit it.
