Personality
I’d call her accepting, and pleasant. She tries her best to be positive, supportive, and helpful to everyone. If it is in her power to help, she’ll try her best! Nevertheless, she's the secretive type. Why did she end up this way? Who can say? Perhaps, she feels as though her clan should not worry, or be bothered by her problems. The night is when her secrets shine, where her eyes see.
Early Life
When she hatched, I feared for the youngest daughter of Kalle and Abduweli. Unlike her father, her brother and sister, unlike most skydancers in fact, this little one had no antenna. I had never observed this before, so on one claw, I was fascinated, on the other, terrified. Her parents were steadfast, she would be fine. I prayed they were right. The antenna of a skydancer are delicate, and deeply affect their magic. As her mother before her, this small child was gifted with runes, perfect for fighting the shade, a fact for which her mother was proud. I still felt as though something was off, and I’m usually correct, such a shame.
The thing that was “off” was her eyes. Her magic was fine, better than her siblings even, but not the poor thing’s eyes. She saw nothing. The shade she was supposed to battle? Faded into the black of everything else. The light, good she was supposed to serve? Lost to the black as well. I watched her stumble around, flail, and flop. Her mother was devastated, for all the reasons a mother would be, but for another as well. Her child could not join the fight she herself breathed like oxygen. I watched passively as a distance grew between her and her parents. The training of the small things’ brother and sister took up most of her parents time. Left to her own devices, the runes on her arms became her fascination. Now, years later, she leaves. There is a rift between her and her mother, which she naturally understands. She has nothing to offer her mother's fight. She bears no resentment, or so she has said to me. However, I do think some still resides in her, but then, that’s the nature of these things. She seeks somewhere to be useful, or so I assume. Though, someone to teach her why she can only see the glowing runes of her body, the reason for their dancing ‘round her, seems far more likely to me. I wish her well, this little one, who can only see what she was meant to fight, the little one with magic in her eyes! |
