- - - Raudiryix coiled himself around the support that kept up the pelts and linens in the medical ward, weaving around them to lay his head atop Isildur's with his hand clutching the Skydancer's hood. Or attempting to, anyways, if the other dragon hadn't moved his wing in the way. Pesky things, Skydancers. Could always feel you coming. "When are you going to take me to see your deity, hm?" Despite the rapid pace, there was a certain cadence to his voice; a certain tone to it. "Or is it even your deity? You've never shown the energy that flows into those pretty eyes--" Speaking of eyes, his own felt heavy. His head slipped off the Skydancer's own as he felt his muscles tighten and retract, pulling him closer to the pole. It was nice to have something to wrap around. ![]() He was startled awake by the crackled sound of indistinct commands, echoing across the wastelands. Freedom and security had been traded in for a narrow crack inside of the Carrion Canyon, into the steep cliff that would have made it unappealing to the native Ridgebacks. Was this a dream? Was the other dream a dream? Was he dreaming inside of a dream and perhaps about to face something horribly wrong, where he would need to go deeper to escape it? |

The Stormcatcher's booming voice broke through his thoughts like a clap of thunder, and Raudiryix looked first towards the Lightning Farm. He could do the work of five Ridgebacks in half the time, if he wanted to. He could be very useful, and wasn't being useful the most important thing? Not that they were that different from him; they were all members of the Lightning flight and all considered equally useful and capable in the grand scheme of things. Dividing between their individual races was stupid and pointless. Or perhaps he could escape to the South. Desert was still desert, cold or hot, and he had survived for as long as he had already. But that would require traversing the chasm and making his way to the Ashfall Wastes. The thought gave him pause as he turned his head to face the Fire lands. What if they caught him? Would he be questioned, and would the golden excuse of 'I came to borrow' hold up for him as well as it did for the local population? He didn't even notice that he was already shifting and moving closer to the ground, away from any potential discharge from the skies. He twisted himself between bone and stone, slipping into cavities in skulls to keep as much of his body covered from the elements as possible. ![]() His chest stung, and as he gasped out in pain, he realized that the air was crisp and cold. His eyes focused on Gweevlyn, the small fae changing his bandages with fresh ones, the linens saturated in some tonic or infusion. She didn't bother to look up at him, already having learned it was a pointless endeavor to even attempt understanding a Spiral's body language, but she did comment, "You were dreaming again." |
"Is that what we're calling it now?" The fae paused for only a moment before resuming her work. "Anemoi went back to her ancestral homelands." The implication of those words hung in the air, and Raudiryix adjusted the bandage on his wrist. It was too snug, he could feel his circulation slowing. He tried to play off his next question casually, scoffing a bit as he asked, "What does that have to do with me?" He allowed a smirk to grace his lips, but inside he knew what was coming next. "Your first hatchling. Your only remaining hatchling. Ceindeg. She worries for you." "She shouldn't. Now, where's your mate, speaking of? I was having a lovely chat with him." "He's on an escort mission." Code words for 'He's taking someone to meet the Icewarden'. |
