Reikan was born into a high-ranking family and groomed to join the Arcane Academy by her Ice immigrant parents. She instead ran off to a cold remote island in the far reaches of the Starfall Isles. There she honed her icy magic, and had a run in with a strange relic in a cave.

The relic bound the ice around her to her skin and wings. Afraid to return for fear of being ridiculed, she found a simple labor job in the recesses of the Observatory. There, she was discovered by Kirameki, practicing (failing) his teleportation spells, and finally worked up the courage to rejoin Arcane society. She was met not with ridicule, but with joy for her discovery and it's insight into the Gembond gene.

She joined Imogen's clan to cement her relationship with Kirameki.
