Personality

____Tempest is an intelligent, calculating dragon. She is constantly weighing the options present for any situation in order to minimize the damage done to her crew and her ship. Though, sometimes she likes to push her luck and wait until the last possible second to correct her course.

She is energetic and adventurous. Unlike some Captains, Tempest makes a point of always walking around on deck. She enjoys spending time in the presence of her crew and helping them with their duties. Tempest isn't afraid of sailing into danger, but usually tries to be keep her crew relatively safe.

Story

Mori grew up relatively alone. Her parents vanished when she was young- the work of slavers or sickness, most likely. So she raised herself. Living on a beggar's wages and just a little bit of help from older and more experienced street urchins and tramps. Life was a rough, cruel thing in the muggy port city she grew up in.

Eventually, Mori graduated from begging to thieving. At first, she merely stole the necessities. Bread from a windowsill, meat hanging up to dry in the butcher's shop, clothes left unattended on a clothesline. After a while, though, other things began to catch her eye. She would grab books and jewelry whenever she could. The jewelry fetched a good price at the small shady market stalls, and Mori enjoyed thumbing through the books and looking at the occasional picture within them.

She was looking through a large book with gorgeous pictures of far-off lands when one of the older beggars - nicknamed Grandma Mim - snatched the book out of her hands. Mori frowned and glared up at the old woman as Grandma Mim eyed the pictures critically.

"Dreaming of one day getting out of this place and going off to the Gilded Cities, eh?" Mim asked with a smile.

Mori growled slightly and snatched at the book, "I don't know what you're talking about." She held the book to her chest, "I just like the pictures."

Grandma Mim fell silent at that, and looked at Mori in slight surprise. She tapped a dirty nail on her chin as she considered her words for a few moments.

"You," Mim said, as if she was just realizing something, "You can't read."

A feeling akin to shame filled Mori, and she huffed and turned her back on Mim. She refused to turn and look even as she heard the sound of Mim's fabrics shifting and felt her place a small gnarled hand on Mori's shoulder.

After the crew found Calais and welcomed him aboard, Mori unofficially adopted him. Though they're close in age, Mori is very protective over Calais, and will often snap at the other crew members if they proceed to tease him or if they manage to upset him. The two are very close, and enjoy each other's company.
