Biography
From her first moments of adulthood within the clan, Eyre was starting fights for dominance. When Vikenti was exalted and Jade began taking power, Eyre lost several rough fights with the more experienced wildclaw. Many senior dragons see Eyre as no more than a young annoyance, best kept in the nests where she almost always has a new clutch.
Eyre's closest companions are her two most frequent mates: Rochester and WillGraham. Rochester will often care for her hatchlings while Eyre is busy with clan politics, even when he is not the sire. Eyre speaks flawless coatl. The coatls in the clan often refer to her and Rochester as "the sick ones" due to their lack of color, no matter how much Rochester attempts to overcompensate with bright apparel. Other dragons have also began using this name to refer to them behind their backs.
Eyre loudly speaks on behalf of the less respected warriors of the clan: dragons such as Dolarhyde and his daughter, WillGraham and Hannibal. She also speaks up for those dragons largely dismissed as "breeders:" Bowie and Iman, Wyldon and Bedelia, Apollo and Auto. Wyldon's powerful seniority is the only thing that keeps older dragons from tossing Eyre out of many negotiations.
TROUBLE BREWING
On the day the clan celebrated Jade's 2nd birthday, Eyre donned a fierce set of armor closely matching Rochester's usual garb. The "sick ones" stunned a crowd to silence upon their entrance to the festivities. They maintained their usual levels of polite if distant pleasantries, and when asked, Eyre claimed she wanted a change. Many senior dragons grimly muttered in corners that this phrase was far too vague for their liking. Even Apollo was treated with open hostility if he attempted to be friendly towards dragons supporting Jade. Less political dragons gloomily braced themselves for a future storm. Rumors flew that Tiresias was given a vision of a change in flight. The fact he remained uncharacteristically silent when asked about it only further convinced the clan that their matriarchs would soon trade more than diplomatic blows.
THE FORCED MIGRATION
The battle was brutal. It was sudden. No dragons were killed, but many were gravely injured in what has been labeled The Great Misery. Eyre's attack was successful. The greatest injuries, besides Jade's, were to Abigail, who threw herself desperately in front of WillGraham during the fighting. Jade ceremoniously submitted to Eyre just before the Lightweaver told them, through all the clan prophets at once, that they were unwelcome in their lair. Eyre chose the Flamecaller's domain for their new home in order to show some objectivity. There were few flame element dragons in the clan, and she knew the Flamecaller would be the most likely to take in a battle-striken clan. A few dragons complained that Apollo had swayed her. Apollo, with shadows of his old charm, laughed this off with the point that nobody disliked this domain as much as he.
Eyre promised to be kind to her old enemies, and so far, though wary of one another, the clan has begun to heal.
A NEW FLIGHT
Eyre is a busy leader, almost meddlesome. She has encouraged the clan's focus to shift from producing hatchlings for the diety to accumulating wealth, bonding through warrior training, and mentoring young dragons. The depleted lairs have quickly filled with new flame elementals. Eyre retains her warrior armor, but has ceased her tireless training.
