Mardikan

Mardikan is a hunter. A carver. An inquisitor. Hailing from clan Archaic, Mardikan wanders Sornieth destroying abominations and things that refuse order. Heretics, monsters, the undead. Little is safe from his wrath. In all reality, he is a selfish brat filled with pride in his own prowess. He produces very little of his own magic but has trained his body to store enormous quantities of what he does generate. He relies heavily on this power to soften attacks upon him and to strike with pestilent magic. Covering his body are brambles, flowers, and moist vines that act as prehensile weapons; extensions of himself in a way. He created them by repeatedly exposing Moonglow Thorns to the vile swells of the Wyrmwound... Until one survived. It is now attached to him and lives symbiotically on his body. Removal would kill it and perhaps him. They are carnivorous unlike him, however.

Mardikan is prideful and arrogant. He believes himself an instrument of his god. To bring order to a world gone mad. His swords are dripping in the blood of as many innocents as monsters, however. It does not take much to be an apostate in his eyes. Mardikan is cruel, sadistic, and enjoys toying with his quarry before cutting it to ribbons mercilessly. Take solace in the fact that he is irrationally terrified of bodies of water, however. Something very bad may have happened for that to happen. Or nothing.

• His Brambles are the product of experimentation with dipping Moonglow Thorns into Wyrmwound. He eventually got one to survive.
