Story

Dotted with distant and bright stars in all its glory, the night sky has been a source of wisdom, inspiration, curiosity. Tales of legends are all charted onto varying coordinates to remind everyone of the great deeds of history. At least, this is what Saiph was told as a young boy. A self-proclaimed weaver of history, Saiph's father was, in fact, quite the dreamer, but he never let Saiph forget his role in life. "One day, you will serve Her as well."

But Saiph wanted a different life, and he never let his father forget, doing everything he could to avoid studying altogether. He didn't want to be an academic. Although he was hardworking, and even though he enjoyed the sciences very much, he just...wanted to choose for himself.

And then, like in so many tales, Saiph's life was dramatically changed. It was an accident, they told him. His father's laboratory burned day and night for two whole days before it was discovered. A lifetime of work, all lost in mere hours, minutes, seconds perhaps.

Saiph returned home to a package from his father. It was stamped three days ago. Quickly opening folded parchment, he read the lines once, twice, thrice. This is goodbye, son. Someone's coming for me. Keep this knowledge safe. As he slowly opened the boxes full of parchment upon parchment, he realized then that an important task was ahead of him, and while he didn't necessarily choose it, in a way, he always knew it felt right to be looking towards the stars.
