Carmine serves as a night guard, something she’s taken to extremely well, despite her previous lack of discipline. Her size and uncharacteristic grace are an asset to the clan guard and she cuts quite an imposing figure to those who don’t know her. However, for those who know her at all, she’s just a big sweetheart.

- Hatchling Biography -
While Carmine was born in The Wandering Contagion, she did not grow up there. Her parents were traveling merchants who would up and move whenever sales dropped, which was often. Due to such a lifestyle, Carmine did not have many friends as a hatchling.

- Adolescent Biography -
As she grew, Carmine’s parents managed to find a more steady job, which led to them settling down along the very edge of the Starfall Isles.

Since her parents’ income was nothing to boast about and Carmine herself wasn’t in school, she began to pick up odd jobs to help out. Eventually she landed a pretty decent job as a model for a newbie fashion designer and was ecstatic to be able to find a job she enjoyed while still managing to be helpful to her family.

Carmine eventually gained independence and left to live with some of her coworkers. Her parents were sad to see her go, but understood her desire to be free of their stressful lifestyle.

Carmine was happy with the change. Living with the other models and designers was fun and they all became fast friends due to their constant close proximity. Her life became more stable, and traveling was no longer a dreaded inevitably, but an exciting trip with her friends for work.

And she always ended up back in the same place; she always went home.

- Adult Biography -
However, as Carmine aged, she was struck with intense wanderlust and she knew that the time for traveling was once again upon her. Her charge was calling and it was finally time for her to find it.

She left the life she made for herself behind with great reluctance, so much so that for the first couple years, she hated her unknown charge for pulling her away from her home. She wandered for years, her bitterness deep in her heart spreading like a poison, before she finally grew so frustrated, that when confronted by a group of traveling bandits, her negative feelings came spilling out and she flew into a rage.

Despite her lack of battle experience, her size and strength saved her and the defeated bandits turned tail and ran. High on the left over adrenaline and anger still sizzling in her blood, her first reaction when a strange rustling sounded in the trees was to attack and attack she did.

The strange rustling turned out to be a dragon, a ridgeback adorned in ivory, who parried her furious attack easily. Carmine froze, alarmed at her actions and what she could have possibly done. She turned to apologize, but the stranger was already grasping her wrist delicately, with a soft “you’re hurt.”

She learned that the stranger, “Kress,” she tells her with a soft smile when she finally gathers the courage to ask, was gathering herbs for her clan and heard the noise of her previous scuffle and decided to investigate.

Once her arm is bandaged, Kress invites her back to her clan to properly check her over for injury, and give her a place to rest if need be. Carmine finds that, despite her guilt, she can’t turn down such an offer.

Kress took her before her leaders, two guardians smaller than herself, who offer her a place to rest. She accepted, not sure why they’d let her stay, she’d almost hurt their healer after all, but she wasn’t about to say no. After a couple of weeks, Carmine grew uneasy that she hadn’t been given the boot and finally asked when they planned on having her leave. She was pleasantly surprised to find that they had no intention of kicking her out, not if she didn’t want to leave. They told her that she was welcome to stay and become a member, but they understood if she wanted to continue her Search.

"Whatever you decide, our offer will always stand," Ausha had told her.

Carmine decided to compromise. She became a member, she really did like the clan, but she would leave for extended periods of time whenever she felt the pull to go and look and find.

Ausha and Dak agreed and Carmine was overjoyed. She was then trained thoroughly by Argok before being appointed as a night guard and introduced to the other night guard, Raion, who was initially very nervous to meet her, but once they got to know each other, they became good friends.

But then again, Carmine is easy to get along with and, with time, becomes one of the clan’s most popular members. It’s a source of pride for her.

Carmine has come to view the clan as her new sanctuary. She once again has a home she can return to and has the freedom to leave when she feels the need to do so. She has friends and a much bigger family and sometimes thinking about it all makes her emotional.

She’s gained everything she’d ever wanted and she couldn’t be happier.

- Additional Notes -
➤ Carmine's sword, a gift from Argok for completing her training, is named Chimei-tekina, which means deadly grace.

➤ Carmine supposedly has a big crush on Argok, though she denies such claims vehemently. Ausha and Eirwen find it adorable.
