Biography
HELENA x

she/her | the broken messiah | true neutral | ♫

Smoke, ash, and bone. This is how Helena remembers that day. Confusion and panic taint the air, acrid and misleading. There was not enough time to warn them. There was not enough time to run. Everywhere is red, bleeding red like the sun; heat tearing into flesh with it’s teeth. Too many had fallen, their broken and burnt forms littering what remained of the temple. And the beast. The emperor. Lord of decay and destruction it bared down upon them with fury unrivalled, ripping life from limb. Unhinged. Inconsolable. She had managed to cower beneath a fallen pillar, forced to turn her back to the screams of her peers. Her family. Her friends. And as her tears fell, flames towered, surrounding her. It would be her end. Then light. Among crumbling marble and terrible, contorted screams and the veil of smoke there was light. A voice hummed through the panic, speech like the flutter of wings, the rasp of jagged metal. Otherworldly. It, She, spoke. “You, child. You were once as broken and flawed as they. That is why they trust you, and that is why you must fix this. Fix them, Helena. It is my will.” And in an instant, she was alone. Helena; hand of the Lightweaver, speaker of Truths and dealer of Justice. She would carry the weight of divine providence. And she would save them all. Many spend their whole lives seeking purpose, searching for meaning in their short, fragile existence. Some die trying. Helena would be given no such luxury. Imperials, the Lightweaver’s first mistake, must be eradicated. Cleansed and consecrated, buried deep and sealed so that they never rise again. And Helena was Chosen: it would be her duty, her burden. Her repentance for her mere existence as one of these cursed children. > Kintsugi, reformed from one of the broken statues flanking the entrance to the temple she called home, was a gift from the Lightweaver herself. |
