B I O G R A P H Y

Beast had never known his family, but he was sure he had one at some point. They must had been wiped out before he hatched, although come to think of it, he couldn’t remember hatching. His earliest memories were of wandering the forest, hiding from unknown creatures in the shadows, searching for...something. He didn’t quite know what.

When he met Stealth in the forest, he wasn’t sure what to make of this strange little Fae. He didn’t feel afraid around her, which surprised him a lot, as he felt the urge to run from everything. Instead, when near her, he felt at home and peaceful. Could she be what he had been searching for? He was unsure. When he asked about her family, and she told him she was a direct creation of the Shadowbinder, Beast briefly considered leaving, for she was obviously crazy. The gods didn’t create dragons anymore, everyone knew that! But something kept him there, something unknown. As the time went on, he grew closer and closer to Stealth, eventually creating a nest with her. By this point, he felt nothing but pride at the two newest additions to the rule of the Shadowbinder.

Around this time, Stealth started questioning him further on his family, which he found odd, but went along with. He couldn’t figure out why she would want to hear about his lack of memory over and over again, and why she was so obsessed with the fact that she couldn’t remember his own hatching. Finally, he asked her about it, expecting to hear some nonsensical explanation. Instead, she said seriously, “I think you might be like me. One created by the Shadowbinder as a student and servant. The proof is all there.”
Beast stared at Stealth in disbelief. Him, a creation of the Shadowbinder? It couldn’t be. He wasn’t special or important enough to be one, and even if she had created him, why had she never appeared to him? He shook his head firmly. It couldn’t be, and it wasn’t. He just couldn’t remember his early life, that didn’t mean anything! Stealth tried several times to convince him, but Beast stayed firm in his belief that he was utterly normal and unimportant, and she eventually gave up, trusting that the Shadowbinder would reveal it in time.

B I O G R A P H Y

As the clan grows, Beast has to fend off increasingly larger numbers of foes intent on destroying them, from Beastclan to dragons of other flights, even other shadow dragons turned traitor. Although unable to connect to the shadows as well as Stealth due to his disbelief, he is still incredibly powerful, with a natural affinity for magic-use. He will put his all into defending the clan against anything that opposes them, no matter the risk.

Along with defending existing members of the clan, Beast is also in charge of seeking new members. Every new prospect is passed through him, to gain his approval or rejection, often without the dragon in question knowing. Those approved are always led by him to the labyrinth, and if victorious, welcomed by him on the other side. Those denied are not left alone, but simply guided to clans better fit to receive them, again without their knowledge.

While Beast is still in disbelief about his creation, the Shadowbinder will not allow him to deny it forever. He will be needed at full strength and power in the coming future, or the clan that she has created will perish, falling to great evils. Even now, the shadows whisper her plans to Stealth, who is ready to obey her every command. As powerful as he is now, the Shadowbinder has great abilities and strength in store for Beast...
