Born and raised in the City of Inoue, Samirel was loved by her parents. She adored her mother's love, and her father's spirit. While not as much of a roughhouser as him, Samirel preferred to be the peaceful sort. Early on, she found herself drawn towards nature, despite being a Light dragon. Everything about nature appealed to her--the trees, the brush, the animals, the flowers. Everything about it made her feel happy. She escaped from the nest often, just to wander through whatever wooden areas were around the city. Her magic soon began to manifest around nature, and Samirel found that not only could she make flowers bloom and grass greener, but she had the ability to transform into any creature of her choosing. During a dream one night, a mysterious figure approached her, telling her that she may only choose one creature to shift into. It would be the first creature she'd lay eyes on, when she next traveled to the wood. The following day, she saw a deer, drinking by a river. A beautiful creature, elegant and majestic. That was her creature. Years after seeing the deer, Samirel began practicing her shifting abilities. However, it was much harder than she thought. Though she could heal minor wounds, and cause certain flora to bloom and flower, changing her own form was much more challenging. Though she had the support of both parents, Samirel was quickly losing confidence. The one time her transformation actually worked, her form was still more like that of a Tundra, than a deer, and looked more like the infamous Wendigo. After accidentally scaring a few locals, Samirel hid in the woods for days, until she was able to transform back into her regular self. Becoming disheartened at this, Samirel wondered what she could do. What would help in her ability to transform? Deciding on a change of scenery, Samirel parted ways with the city, and after a tearful goodbye with her parents, set off into the world. During her travels, she practiced hard with her magic, including her shifting abilities. She was pleased to see that the results varied, but more towards the successful spectrum. Maybe a change of pace was needed after all. While she found she could bloom more plants than before, her shifting abilities were still difficult to master. Her deer form was still more akin to that of a Wendigo than a graceful, gorgeous deer. She was just thankful that she was still herself in this form, knowing she'd never forgive herself if she lashed out and attacked someone. As she traveled on, she did see more deer, and she used them as inspiration to work hard at her shifting magic, so that one day, she may run among them, graceful and free. Her travels eventually led her to the Windcurrent Clan. There, she was very surprised to find that her older sister, Fysher, was already there. The two had a wonderful reunion, and Samirel was happy to have family even this far away from home. After being introduced to her sister's mate, the two went around the clan, with Fysher proudly introducing Samirel, and saying that they were sisters. Her sister's spirit reminded Samirel so much of their father. The clan leaders, Khan and Tarcy, were more than happy to welcome her into the fold. Once she got settled in her own den, and made some friends with the other clan members, she then worked on her magic once more. And while the Wind territory didn't have many forested areas, the tree mage, Tramontana had a 'traveling forest' that went where she did. The forest provided Samirel with enough nature to continue to nurture her abilities. |
Though when Samirel arrived at the Windcurrent clan, there was something stirring behind the scenes. Some days were fine, while others she could practically sense the tension in the air. She had no idea what was happening...but whatever it was, it was big. Despite the tension, Samirel continued to train within Tramontana's forest, and when she needed to relax, she spent time with Fysher, and Diondra. When they weren't around, she'd go around the clan and simply talk with others, getting to know everyone better, and making sure they're all right. Occasionally, she'll go to Jay's clinic and help out with any patient he, Maelgwyn and Poppett might have. Even after everyone's forms shifted to two legged, Samirel continued to do her best to make sure everyone in the clan was doing all right. One time, while training in the forest, she stumbled across a creature she'd never seen before. She'd heard about bears, but aside from seeing them as familiars, she never saw them as actually wildlife. And never one so big and...slightly green. But before she could react, the bear came to her, sniffing curiously at the air--at her--before shifting before her very eyes, into quite the handsome, buff Tundra fellow. He introduced himself as Bracken--a traveling druid. He'd come from the Light territory, similar to Samirel, but had gotten lost on his way to the Viridian Labyrinth. His quest to save a small frog from starving to death had made him change directions, and he ended up in these strange woods. After getting over the shock that the forest could 'move', Bracken and Samirel began talking, and got to know each other quite well. Seeing Samirel struggling with her druid shifting abilities, Bracken became her mentor, and began training her as well, to help her shift fully into her elegant deer form. With a mate now at her side, and her sister being in the same clan, Samirel has nothing to fear. ...Nothing, aside from Zhir taking a liking to her. The Sith Witch talks of the 'Force', something Samirel had never heard of before. But she says the word a lot around Samirel. But Zhir only comes around with Samirel is alone--Fysher and Diondra don't like the Imperial around the meek druid, and even Bracken has his suspicions about the scarred witch. But Samirel doesn't fear Zhir. What she worries about, though, is the shift in the clan. What will happen? What will come of what's currently happening? Only time will tell... |
