The sunlight was blinding. One step after another, each move that cost a world of effort, left forward… right forward… left… right…
Stop. Shallow scrapes in the dusty, invisible trail marked the path from which he had come, a long and nearly perfectly straight line: One end of the unfamiliar world to the other. Across this land one could see for miles, almost nothing that could block their line of sight; the trees that were there, were small and sparse, and desert-like plants and thin growth scattered occasionally. The thin, dead grass under his claws flitted in the light breeze. On the horizon, the sun was setting… or rising. The vibrant hues of violet, orange, pink, and yellow splashed across the sky implied that it was indeed setting. He slowly lifted his head, and turned his gaze to take everything in. An empty shell, completely void of all memory and knowledge, he just looked. He knew nothing else. He was nothing.
