The Queen Mother

There is no love between her and her mate. She’s fine with it, because throughout the many years they have spent together, Siergiej always treated her with respect and kindness. It is much more than most of her kind ever get – she was meant to be exalted from her lair, to serve the Mighty Earthshaker, but her calling came before she could join the war fodder. She was called to lay eggs of the new warriors and Siergiej, then still a young, vicious fighter, was chosen as hers. Or rather, she has ended up as his prize for a won battle.

Little did she know, that within years Siergiej would become a King in his own right. From a beaten up hatchling, to a warrior and then a leader. The Mighty Earthshaker has seen fit to reward her mate and just like that, Nightsky became a Queen.

The first years were hard on them all. Their small flock barely managed to survive the droughts and the sandstorms of Shattered Plain. But they persevered. They rose up from the dust of the Earth Flight and Nightsky learned to rule, to lead, to listen to her new subjects and most of all, to take care of them.

She is a fair Queen. Compassionate and kind, always ready to listen to everyone. Yet, she rarely grants any favours. Even though she loves to look up at the stats, the night sky she was named after, and dream, she never lets that cloud her judgement. She’s firm and stern when she has to, gentle when she can, and lonely when no one’s looking.
