Biography

He's a fine warrior, this dragon made of steel is the sharpest knife's edge. On the battlefield, he is an irreplaceable ally; Ihu may not have any magic to take into a fight, but in no way does it put him at a disadvantage. In fact, many a mage found themselves challenged in a fight with Ihu, and are at a loss a fair amount of the time. Ihu may not be the most powerful physical fighter in the clan- especially because it is clan based around sword fighting and dueling, but he is still the quickest and one of the most strategic. He is one with a noble heart, a powerful warrior he is, but traitorous and selfish he is not. His mate, Viri, sees his qualities as well, she reached out to him in his darkest hour, and in return was given the happiest future she could have ever wanted- a family. Ihu puts twice as much forward with each passing day, no enemy given even the tiniest bit of mercy; he battles to protect the family he loves and will tear down all who threaten it. And so, enemy clans beware, for if you do not keep yourself alert- a sudden flash of silver followed by a spurt of crimson blood will appear, and your future will contain nothing but shadows and death.

--

He's loyal, strong-willed, stubborn, and serves for the entirety of his life- the typical traits of a fine warrior. Yet, he is even more so fatherly and loving; he fights only to protect the ones he cares for. And if giving up fighting was the way to preserve the family happiness, he would do it without a moment of hesitation. He can be narrow-minded and brusque; it's caused more than a few, or even a dozen, fights and arguments with his love, Viri. Though he's always been able to see his wrongs in due course and strive to better himself- ‘little by little’, as Viri would say. Ihu is also a proud member of his clan- he acts for family first of course, but he also fights for his clan as well.

Among his friends, clan mates and family, Ihu is known to be a charming, witty talker with a love of riddles- he's left many banging their heads into a wall, unable to solve the problem he has presented. However, he's also a loner- he doesn’t enjoy the company of others he is unfamiliar with, and he does like to have some time to himself every so often. When he was younger, he could only rely on himself for emotional support, and protection. Since then, he's opened up a bit more; but his greatest flaw remains, in times of need, he isolates himself so that he does not inflict worry upon others. Luckily, Viri is quite fierce with this, and helps him out as much as possible, despite his protests that he is all right. After all, that's how this star crossed couple's great love began.

--

His finest skill is, without a doubt, his quit wit and sharp mind. A master of strategy is he; able to outwit enemies with masterful, near flawless planning and intellect. Ihu's physical ability is easily made up for- brain versus brawn, and indeed, the brain emerges victorious. Naturally, he is a champion of chess- his traps are set and hidden well, opponents skillfully lured into each one without fail. Yet, for all his tactical talent there is an artistic side to him as well- he carves gorgeous figures from wood and delights his friends and family with these elegant gifts. The clan values him greatly, for he comes back from every fight with barely a scratch, winning before the conflict has begun.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Ihu's stunning intellectual ability would be that he can calculate odds and manipulate them to be almost entirely in his favor. Because of this, he has managed to reduce the clan battle ranks death toll when they are out on the battlefield to protect the land. Of course, he loses a warrior from time to time, for odds cannot be fully shifted- indeed he lost his own mother in a fight, and it was a crushing blow to one who once thought he could protect everyone with ought flaw, work everything in his favor- even the cleverest are not omnipotent, after all.

--

He emerged on a cold, winter day, filled with bitter frost and the harshest ice. His parents feared he would freeze within the egg, die before he had even a single chance at love. Yet, he pulled through- and so Ihu was born. Even then, from the moment of birth, Ihu analyzed his surroundings, pulling information from every crevice and weaving into a larger picture. He calculated outcomes, learned to manipulate odds in his favor- how to get that last bit of food instead of his brothers and sisters, how to become unnoticed so he could take the last feather for his bedding. He was held back by morality, however; his parents raised him well. A good thing, too- who knows what he could have done if he turned to avarice?

When Ihu was older, he joined the battling ranks and used his intellect to aid the clan. He knew he could be a valuable asset, for he could now predict every variable and control the battlefield. Ihu thought he could manipulate the odds and ensure no one in the clan, especially those close to him, would die on the battlefield ever again. And it worked, the clan flourished, and not a single life was lost for two years. However, then came the day when at last, Fate showed her true power. The battle had been going well, as always; Ihu was fighting alongside his mother, who was also in the combatant’s ranks. The plan went smoothly without fail, every enemy brought down in targeted ambush strikes- but one team was hidden in the shadows, and struck out just when the battle was won. Ihu leaped forward to save his mother, and killed the dragon attacking her- but alas, she was already gone, and Ihu had failed.

After his mother's death, Ihu spiraled into darkness and misery; it was hard for him to accept that he couldn't fully control the variables- it is a hard lesson to learn, and it was mixed with crushing grief. Then, Viri approached, she was a kind dragoness, and couldn't bear to see Ihu's despair and misery. She helped him, taught him lessons he needed to learn. He fell in love with her, and she loved him back. From then on, Ihu no longer tried to control everything in his life; he learned to relax his grip, and soon he had a family of his own. He continued to fight and plan for the clan, but this time with understanding; he would lose more clanmates, but he felt good about at least lessening the numbers casualties. To this day, he lives for his clan, friends- and above all, his children and the love of his life.
