HISTORY ★ She was born of pure starstuff, a splash of the cosmos, a touch of matter, spanning lightyears into infinity. Her mane coalesces distant galaxies and constellations and her scales reflect the lights of faraway worlds. ★ No one can be entirely sure where she came from. She barely knows herself. The only thing that is for certain that she is not of this world. ★ She's simultaneously youthful and ageless. Her very existence is a contradiction of the laws of nature. ★ She was found fallen to the earth during a meteor shower. How peculiar; almost as if she had fallen from the great beyond itself. ★ She originally spoke a different tongue: an language such as the the dragons of Soreinth has never heard before. She did eventually learn the native language of her adoptive clan, but she still speaks it with minor difficulty, in clipped phrases and words all out of order. ★ She displayed an aptitude for astronomy from the very beginning. She operates telescopes and navigation charts with ease, almost as if she had learned how to use them in a distant past. She's quiet about where she acquired those skills, however. ★ Some had taken to calling her prophetic; while she's not a trained soothsayer, the pearlcatcher seems to posses an innate sense of whats to come. It's not always clear, nor is she always able to communicate her visions clearly due to the language barrier (much to her frustration), but she sees things. PERSONALITY ★ Cautious to a fault, she's nonetheless fueled by an intense curiosity to understand everything about the world around her. ★ She possesses unnaturally powerful magic, but it's poorly-suited for battle; rather it seems to be more effective at detection and illusions. ★ She gets agitated on days when the clouds blot out the skies. It's one of the only times where the others have seen her truly distressed. ★ She's kind to the hatchlings, affectionately calling them "little stars" and telling them fantastical stories, though she often reverts to her native tongue due to not being able to translate her tales into common draconic. ★ She gets very uncomfortable in crowded areas; she prefers solitude or the company of the few she trusts. EXTRA ★ She's the resident tea expert. She seems to have a special brew for any occasion. Can't sleep? Chamomile tea will help you drift right off. Got a cold? Elderflower tea should help with that. Stressed out? A cup of zesty lemon tea ought to help. ★ Her pearl acts as a shifting star chart. Some joke that she's able to peer into it's murky depths to catch glimpses of other realities. She has neither confirmed nor disputed this rumor. ★ She knows the night sky so well she can remap the skies without any references. She would be an excellent navigator if she could be coaxed to leave the comforts of her home. ★ She may come off as tight lipped and reserved, but she becomes very chatty once she warms up to a dragon. But she never mentions her past or where she came from. |
