Toc was born into a family of mages in the Starfall Isles. He was the youngest of many brothers, each as talented at magic as the next. However, because he was the seventh brother, and seven is commonly known to be a number of magical significance, he was prophesied to become much more powerful than any member of his family before him - a prophecy that quickly came true. Eventually, his brothers became jealous of his magic, and conspired to use their combined magical forces to drain Toc of his own. However, Toc could sense that his brothers were plotting against him, and fled from his home to the City, where his contributions to both the studies of Arcane magic and magic in general are indispensable.
