PRESENTLY

. . ❈ . . Kui appears casual and approachable at first. He has an easy smile and relaxed posture, no matter if he's leaned against the front of a building or sitting at a table in one of the Mercury Circle's strange shops. This amicable nature of his is of course, a complete farce. His fingers spin blades expertly between them, and his reflexes contrast his disarmingly pleasant exterior. But the friendliness draws people in, weary wanderers and those too desperate to fulfill their desires. They come begging him for help, offering all they can to hire his services. Kui never needs to lift a finger. REWRITE

. . ❈ . . It is not as though he has no choice in his status; he's been invited to join Households before. The Sacrificial Household has a standing invitation just waiting for him should he ever want to take it. Kui has always found the price of entry to that particular House to be a bit too rich for his tastes, but he was careful to express gratitude for the offer.

There are certain freedoms and luxuries to being a lone hunter. The Households, they all seem to conform to certain drives, certain desires, and that's all well and good. But Kui? He just loves the hunt and its bounty. After all, the rewards are often richer for just one man.
