The first born and first son of the second Queen Regnant Dinara and her consort, Vissarion. Vasiliy is somewhat of an unusual choice as an heir; since the clan's founding long ago in the lands of the Arcanist and even through the chaos of Zhanna the Usurper's reign, the chain of succession has always been matriarchal. The announcement of a male heir has caused many members of the clan to wonder if there has been a shift in the governance of the clan, and if there are bigger changes to come. PERSONALITY: Unlike his meek father and his unassuming mother, Vasiliy has been described as reckless and immature. Rambunctious and impudent as a whelp, he never did seem to lose that aspect of his personality once he became an adult, much to the worry of his tutor, and the ire of his grandparents, especially his grandmother. Having never wanted for anything, it's not uncommon to hear whispered complaints from servants of the royal family and indeed, from other members of the royal family itself, that Vasiliy is too spoiled and selfish to be the next leader of the clan when the time comes. Perhaps more worryingly, Vasiliy also doesn't seem to feel he needs to reform his character and become more "kingly" in order to become a successful clan leader. Some say that his reactive, free- wheeling style comes from his great- grandfather, but it is the Prince's seeming lack of regard for how his actions affect not only his family, but the clan as a whole, that has the royal family wringing their claws in worry. In recent times, he's become increasingly interested in seeing the world outside the Keep's high ice walls. That in itself is not problematic, however, the Prince's conduct with the general public does leave much to be desired. For now, the royal family's inner circle of guards and advisers does their best to try and contain the Prince and minimize any collateral damage that may come about due to the Prince's escapades. |
