A new noise- like cracking ice. He slid off, yet paralyzed- as if he were just an object. Butterflies rose in his stomach as he fell. Suddenly he was bobbing up and down as if he were riding the waves. All he could hear was faint swish, swish noises around him; but he had always heard those noises in his entire long life- or had he only lived for a second? He wasn't sure.
Where was he again? He had trouble remembering. He didn't even know if he was alive... Maybe he was just an object, floating in an endless nothingness, with no meaning.
He came to a realization- he didn't know anything; nothing except for the cold, endless dark.
He was like this for what seemed like an eternity- or just a second- without thinking. Why think when there wasn't anything to think about?
Crack. A long, new noise, as he halted abruptly. Suddenly the world around him shifted. Something took up his space; a warm fluid. Then he was surrounded by it.
His feet hit a new texture. It was uneven, somewhat sharp. Rocks.
He could use his body again; he wasn't sure when he did use it or even if he had, but he knew he could move. He was free. He moved his new limbs, propelling himself up through the salty fluid.
Then he was hit with something new- wind. It reminded him faintly of something to do with a 'flight'.
He opened his eyes. Immediately, he was struck with a blinding light- it pained his head, so he closed his eyes. The light reminded him of a flight as well.
Cautiously, he opened one eye just a small bit. Greens, blues, yellows, all formed into shapes in his sight. Land, water, and the sun; he wasn't sure how he knew these things. He just did.
He took in a breath. It filled him with the smell of salt, and he felt more... Alive. He opened his eyes more and looked up.
He took in all of it- the birds, trees, and the looming cliff not far from him. He turned around to see chunks of ice floating through the water, with dark chains laced throughout the ice. Had he been bound in those chains? Probably, now that he thought of it.
He pushed himself through the warm water to explore the landscape ahead. Explore? He'd never done that before. Well, maybe he had... He wasn't sure.
He touched the rocky surface and began to haul himself up the cliff. He didn't fear to fall from it, because he wasn't sure he'd felt fear before.
He climbed for ages, only just noticing iron shackles on his arms and legs. Something heavy weighed on the ends of his wings- yet more shackles. Wait, wings?
He flapped them once, then twice, and thrust himself into the air. The chains, still frosty cold, broke off of his wings as the warm sun heated him. Only the cuffs of his dark chains remained, as they were permanently embedded into his wings. For all he knew, they were a part of him, like a claw or a horn.
He landed on the grass, tough and dry- yet comforting. All around him, there were white pillars and ruins. A dark shadow clotted the area in the distance.
He ambled forward, looking to go anywhere, really. The heat was unbearable after the suffocating cold. The darkness in the distance was comforting to him, more like the endless, trapped world he was in before. Maybe it was cold there?
A pink, small dragon, waving his four arms atop a pillar, caught his eye. The dragon turned around to stare directly at him.
"You," it said. "I know you." The dragon flew to him, four wings propelling the small dragon efficiently.
He felt like he knew the small dragon as well- but he didn't remember.
"I know you. You were trapped, Icebound. We never found you again. Where have you been? How did you escape?" His tiny voice was high-pitched.
"Escape?" His voice was deep, low, rumbling... Ancient. He liked his voice.
"So you don't remember? Well, anything can happen, I suppose. They chained you down and locked you up, in your attempt to save Windchaser. As that happened, a snowstorm blew in. We panicked and got lost.. I figure the other members are scattered throughout Sornieth.. Lucky, I've at least found Lightfall and you, even though Lightfall looks a bit… Different."
"What's your name again?" Icebound asked, his voice rumbling.
"Arcanestruck. Call me Arc, like you used to. Now let me take you to Lightfall."

”Look out!” he rumbled. An Ophiotaurus charged out of nowhere, attempting to crush the hunting party. Icebound turned around, roaring at the creature. It reeled back, readying a kick. As it brought its hooves down towards Icebound’s head, he barreled forward into the monster. Icebound’s strong jaws connected with its underbelly, and he bit down as hard has he could. He threw the creature sideways, attempting to slam it on the ground. A kicking hoof caught him on the side of the head, and he reeled back, disoriented. Blinking, he threw himself at the monster before it could do anything, and found his jaws in it’s neck for the killing blow.
The hunting party congratulated him with wide eyes and dropped jaws, saying it’d make a fine meal.
That night, he was awarded a ferocious banner to wear and a filling dinner, alongside his new Clan.

Icebound is often quiet. He can endure almost anything; a long trek, or a painful wound. He's still learning about the world, and finding he knows about it already as he goes. He deep voice tends to awe dragons, and many could listen to him talk all day. The cold has never bothered him, and his feet are still cold to the touch- they always will be.
