Kiyoshi

Given as an offering to a temple dedicated to the Gladekeeper, the skydancer Yoshi grew up training to defend both shrine maidens and natural places against any foes. Though the physical expression of romance is forbidden to shrine maidens, he nevertheless found himself falling in love with one, the beautiful Momoko. A spirit named Ki competed with him for her affections. One day, Yoshi was gravely wounded in a fight against plague dragons who attacked one of their sacred places; knowing that Yoshi felt as he did for Momoko and that his loss would greatly sadden his beloved, Ki merged with Yoshi to heal him, though both of them lost a bit of themselves in the process, becoming one being who was neither entirely spirit nor dragon, neither Ki nor Yoshi. Instead, they became a construct known as Kiyoshi, a rather unstable one until Momoko used her magic to complete the merge between them, strengthening their bond.

The two traveled to the island of Prufrock when the temple received word of a foul wind from plague territory that blighted much of the vegetation in the Starfall Isles. Momoko and her guard were chosen to be dispatched to Prufrock due to her innate talent with fruit trees - it was thought that she could save the island's grove of peach trees. Once she arrived, she worked closely with the peach tree spirits to remove the blight and restore the grove to full health.

They remained on the island for a time to monitor the health of the trees, then departed to assist other clans with similar afflictions.[/columns]
