Raven

"They aren't my children. What's wrong with you, Raven? I don't love you as a mate. They aren't mine so why should I take care of them?!"

Raven's eyes shook in fear.
"H-how.... How could you? You're their father!"

"You are not my mate. Indigo is," the Skydancer replied.
"But... They're your hatchlings.... You can't disown them!"

Zida merely shook his head then padded over to the lair's entrance. Indigo went over to him and whispered something in his ear. Both of them giggled as Raven carefully tried to look away. Her eyes were filled with tears as she remembered that moment. Zida was harsher than she had expected when he reacted to the birth of her hatchlings. They were his dragonets. He made her pregnant!

She went over to her hatchlings, now abandoned by their father. They were fast asleep in their cozy nest. Such innocent hatchlings couldn't be told the truth yet. She heavily sighed as she looked at the hatchlings. One hatchling had silver scales and reddish-pink wings.

"I'll call you Silver, little one," she whispered in his ear. She saw another ridgeback, this one with dark gray scales. A name came into her mind.
"You shall be called Shadow," she said to the hatchling. Finally she saw a pink hatchling. The hatchling reminded her of the petal of a pink flower.

"And you my dear, shall be called Petal."
