Niezapomn was thrown away from her nest at a young age. She was, after all, the littlest of her clutch. When the clan came upon hard times, she would be the first to go. And, unfortunately for her, the clan came upon hard times and ran low on food. The elders discussed buying more food, or even scouring a venue for some. These ideas went into action, and the clan also decided to enlist some dragons into the service of the Earthshaker to save food.
Niezapomn’s parents could not decide on which of their children to exalt. They marched back and forth. Their prime choice was Niezapomn herself, for she was the runt. But to send a runt to the Earthshaker? They would become the laughingstock of Dragonhome. So, they decided that instead of sending her to their god, they would just, well, throw her away. That night, her own family bound her at her ankles and blindfolded her, threw her into the Cairnstone Rest, and left her there to die.

Thankfully for her, her parents failed to remember that the entry of the caves are full of small plant life, both edible and medicinal. She was able to saw off her bindings on a sharp stalagmite, but did not try to remove the blindfold for fear of hurting her eyes. Thus began her life in the caves.

It was not easy for Niezapomn at first. Unable to see, she was forced to use her other senses to find food and water. Over time, she learned which plants were edible by touch and smell alone, and she hunted small game and found a small underground stream by listening. Her senses became honed and acute, but her eyes eventually went blind under the tough leather that refused to come off, no matter how hard she clawed it.

Eventually, by matter of pure luck, she ran into a friendly trio of dragons who were willing to help her find her way out of the cave. When sunlight reached her scales for the first time in months, the blindfold disintegrated from her face. Not that it would have helped, for the time she spent in total darkness had left her completely blind. Now, she had no idea where to go. It was fairly easy to find food inside the caves, but now, in a featureless desert, she had no sense of direction. She turned to go back into the caves when she heard a voice in her head:

Follow me.
It turns out that her Cairnstone Rest ordeal had piqued the interest of another dragon god.
