BIOGRAPHY

Where Stanza Comes From

____ Poets are known far and wide for their colorful use of structured words. Skill in poetry takes just as much effort as fighting tooth and claw, or casting magic, and very few ever reach the title of Grand Poet. This is a special title only granted annually to one dragon in each Flight. Stanza is the Grand Poet for Wind Flight for Mistral Jamboree 2017. A very prestigious title given Wind Flight's innate creative abilities. While the prestige of such an impressive title would cause some dragons to feel important, Stanza cares more for sharing her love of poetry than any fame that comes with the title.

____ Some of the Grand Poet’s favorite topics to write about are frogs and toads. Stanza can often be found curled up next to a nearby pond watching the amphibians for hours as she works on another poem, more often than not about her friends. During these times, it is not uncommon for Stanza’s croaking companions to find themselves perched on her form in some position. She has a particular fondness for having one of the toads on her head like a hat.

____ She often uses this time to meditate on a topic; usually a single word or phrase. Stanza will mediate on that topics and its various meanings for most of the day, before returning to her writing with renewed vigor and insight. Like many Spirals, she gets very excited and energetic with her passion, often working on three or four different poems at the same time. She also goes on long trips, seeking new topics to write about and new amphibious friends to meet.
