Biography
RIVERSHINE
Prophet
BIOGRAPHY
Rivershine is a prophet, an oracle, a seer. While most dragons are skeptical about Rivershine's precognitive abilities, others have never doubted her interpretations of the most minuscule signs. BloodMoon was the first dragon to seek out Rivershine. The young Skydancer came to Rivershine at the precipice of war. The clan had a disagreement with a passing group of rogue dragons, and were forced with no choice but to fend them away. But BloodMoon was worried for her friend, who had just begun learning healing tactics, and for herself, as she had only just begun her training as a Mage. That was when Rivershine delivered her first major prophecy- "On the threshold of darkness, as blood stains blood, one moon shall rise and another will fall." The prophecy made perfect sense to Rivershine; she knew BloodMoon would join a warrior attack to rescue a stolen hatchling from the rogue dragons' lair. She knew BloodMoon would be cornered, unchaining the frightened, wounded hatchling, and her best friend would sacrifice herself to save them. But Rivershine also knew if she told BloodMoon, the reckless Skydancer would only end up getting the hatchling killed.
Rivershine could see that poor hatchling's futures unraveling. How could she sacrifice all of those timelines, only to save BloodMoon's insignificant friend?
After that day, BloodMoon never said another word to Rivershine. The Skydancer simply ignored the old prophet, or whacked her over the head if she was feeling particularly moody.
Rivershine did get along well with the rescued hatchling, however. Now named Gemini, the hatchling visited Rivershine frequently, asking worried, anxious questions about her futures. Rivershine would always reassure the skittish hatchling, telling her about all of the peaceful futures, and fading back her normal theatrics on the dark paths. But as Rivershine told Gemini about the brighter paths, she could see the dark futures fading ever so slightly.
Rivershine always believed she could steer dragons onto the right paths. She never saw her occupation the same way others did- vague, cryptic prophecies that caused trouble. Rivershine only saw possibility- a million possible timelines spiralled out in front of her... And they were all hers to decipher.
