"Sometime a well practiced Illusion holds more magic than any spells a book can teach you. All you have to do is trust your heart to fill in the blanks missed by your eyes." Oblesque was born as one in a nest of four who were the pride of the lair. His parents held a powerful presence in his home. But try as he might, he felt as if he didn't share the same power as his parents despite his scales being the same as theirs. Late into the night shortly after maturing, he finally took matters into his own claws and decided to leave out on his own. He flew into the tricky brambles that covered the shadow lands trying to find his own way when he came across a small group of glowing creatures. The young pearlcatcher watched them play and teach their young and decided their little tricks and illusions was something he wanted to learn for himself. Departing to find a teacher, he didn't realize one of the younger Gloomwillow Guides had followed him. It wasn't till he settled to rest that he discovered the small glowing creature and became fast friends with it. Settling down for rest under the pale glow of the moon, he pulled a warm blanket of moss and soft brambles over himself before dozing off. When he awoke the next day he found in a hurry he was no longer what he fell asleep as. His little Gloomwillow friend was darting around him as if trying to sort out what happened as well. Jumping to his claws, Oblesque felt his body grow suddenly heavy and before he knew it, he was passed back out again with the last thing he saw being a small glow in the distance. When he came to, he saw he was no longer in the brambles but in a rather comfortable den. After a quick explanation the leader of the lair, he learned in dismay that there was no way to turn him back into what he once was due to whatever having caused his transformation in the first place not being arcane in nature. Oblesque was a bit discouraged about the whole situation, but chose not to let it get to him. Instead he chose to learn how to cast illusions and play with his new found body adapting to being a Mirror quite quickly. It wasn't long until he found himself quite skilled and fully adjusted to the lair that he was currently staying in. As well as the others in the lair. But something bothered him. What was the light he had seen the night before he awoke in the lair. Asking around the lair for answers, he soon stumbled across the one who rescued him. A young and energetic golden Fae from the land of light. His scales seemed to glow and the garb he wore made him seem as if he was some sort of god in himself. Oblesque was stunned into silence for a moment before taking it upon himself to go speak to the fae. Sykar noticed Oblesque right and took little time closing the gap between them. He introduced himself as being a bit of a runaway prince and Oblesque had to admit he could relate to the shining golden male. The two began spending time together till they were borderline inseparable. Oblesque found himself growing what he could only assume was affection towards Sykar and was startled to find that he wasn't alone in those feelings. It wasn't long after their shared confession that the two became mates. |
