Crouton, the only surviving child of Her Mistress’s first nest of abominations, was given no kindness in her youth. Her bloodline meant nothing to the court and much less the one who created her. Her resistance was punished greatly, and her old name is lost to time and memory.

But the laughable name bestowed upon her has made her no less of a terror to those around her.

Now, in the reestablished Kingdom of the Rising Sun, she has been restored to the royalty she was owed by birth. She is now the feared Princess of Ashes, heir to the throne and head of her mother's honor guard.

However, before her mother's rise to the throne, she was the Grand Huntress of Her Court, as well as General of the Outlands. Her duties were to coordinate the small Legions of Her Eyes that formed in other clans and flights, and to hunt down those who escaped from Her Gaze.

She has only failed once, and that is a mistake she seeks to rectify promptly.
