Alright he was genuinely a good dad from some very narrow perspectives, George was meant to protect his actual son from assassinations and the dangers of having such political potential, and this ultimately did work in Ary's favor by George becoming the pawn that ended the war between the two colonies. But he did raise a kid as his own son with the full intention of sending his to an untimely death, protecting his true blood in secret.
