He always hunts his own food, avoids other dragons as much as possible, and sleeps in the woods. His mother says he was born of the shade, and this results in Thaw hating himself. He thinks he might hurt others or cause problems. Despite this, he finds refuge with his brother, Melt. the two are both 'Monsters' and don't need to worry about each other. plus, Thaw's the little brother, and Melt takes care of him well . ╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮
Early Years
╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯Thaw's brother was outcast and left to die in the cold forest at a young age while Thaw was raised with his mother. his mother was frail, shy, but her words never hurt any less. she tried to have little to no bond with him, only raising him according to the laws of the clan. eventually, everyone forgot about him. his mother was good at hiding his existence, and left him to the woods at age three. ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯Thaw is Half night half twilight magic, giving him less control over his shifting than the other dragons. when he was a hatchling, he would shift between a Zeeba and fae almost every day until he found out how to avoid the change. changing so often made him a handful for Flurry, which in turn was a factor to her abandoning him. she felt he would never survive in the clan, or would turn rabid. her fears never came true, but Flurry refuses to enter the forest around the clan for fear of Thaw's revenge. ╭━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╮

Story
Thaw began to crack out of his egg. Flurry held her breath, waiting for both her eggs to hatch. she crossed her claws, hoping that everything would be ok. Thaw finally broke free, poking his head that was obviously to heavy for him out. Thaw's eyes where still shut, blinking away the yoke, when he raised his ear-fins in alarm. Gasps of horror came from two different dragons. the Coatl made several curses in her native tongue, that Thaw defiantly didn't understand... but the more confusing was that of his mother. he saw little drops of water streaming down from her eyes. What was wrong? Thaw couldn't make any sense of it.
"I told you not to mess around with that shade-cursed dragon. look at both of them! monsters." the Female Coatl's voce growled. Thaw's mother began to sob harder.
"Now what are you going to do? it is against clan law to kill a hatchling after it's eyes open!" Thaw watched them both in confusion.
"No... they will live in the clan with the others." Thaw's mother began to wipe the tears from her eyes.
"That one can live normal." the Coatl pointed at Thaw. "the other one is pure monster." Thaw looked at the egg next to him. the Nocturne had one arm made of wood... with little branches reaching up and growing of of it to wrap around other parts of him. tiny blue spores dotted his scales, pushing between them and reaching to the surface. It looked as if a plant or mold was starting to grow on him.
"What will we do with him?" Thaw's mother looked desperate.
"we will leave him in the snow... hopefully it will die." Flurry made no comment. the Coatl picked up Thaw's brother and began to leave the cave. Thaw was left alone with Flurry, who began to lick him gently to remove the egg's slime, but she avoided his head completely, not wanting to touch the cursed deformity of her son.
