"The Escapee"

Thirteen came to the Den from The Dogs, a group who had taken the chance to take in the Wildclaw. Unknownst to all but their leaders, Thirteen was an escaped test experiment from Lightning territory. The nature of the testing is unknown, even to them, but they remembers the pain and horrors so they're not inclined to ever go back. Their need to run took them quickly from their rescuers, but the flight was not from ungratefulness, but a need to move on.

It was JC who found Thirteen after they struck out from The Dogs. They had been wandering Sorneith since, staying with caravans for nights and feeding off of good natured scraps travelers gave them. JC found them during a thunderstorm, huddled under a ruin on the outskirts of the Hewn City. She brought them back, and helped fed and dry them off; their exploits outside had gotten them sick, and so JC helped nurse them back to health.

It’s unknown how long, or even if Thirteen will stay with the Den. For the moment, they’re an almost outsider, watching the life of the others but really participating. The only dragon them really trusts is JC, who confided to them of her own history. They’re curious about the AI, but its technological form reminds them too much of the labs they were created in.

Thirteen is quiet; they don’t talk to anyone besides JC, and even then their words are terse. They’re quick to startle and flee, and spend most of their time alone. They have shown interest in working with Rune’s squad of soldiers, but haven't made any attempts to approach the field commander or his crew.
