Quartz

Quartz was found by a pack of human miners when they came across a promising patch of rocks.
The miners dug and dug, looking for valuable gems that would save them and hook them straight out of poverty.
After hours of mining, they got their end product: a single fragment of Rose Quartz (which was a common gem) that was so dirty and clouded it could pass off as a cluster of crusty mud.
The miners shrieked in frustration as they threw the worthless gem on the floor, when this very dragon came out of the gem, roaring in fury from the insult.
This dragon proved himself worthy ever since he hatched out of his gem.
Quartz spent every moon since then cleaning himself under the clear river outside the cave of his clan until he became as clear and beautiful as a rose petal made of crystals.
