First Snow at the Kommune Gletschersee - 2017

Eyjafjallajokull comes running into the central cavern where Nickelklaus doubtfully eyes the rather small potted fir he is supposed to decorate. The agitated Snapper almost knocks over the tree. "You said we would do the snow together! You promised I could help make the snow this year! I've been practicing all summer!"

Nickelklaus looks from the mountain of decorations to the pathetic excuse of a will-be-magnificent-in 20-years-time-tree and then at his vibrating friend. "Yes. Yes. And yes. Can you help me with those? I have at least ten times less tree than I need to use all these," and he points at the plethora of garlands, fairy lights, baubles and figurines.

"But what about the snow!" Eyjafjallajokull pouts.

"What about it?" asks the distracted Tundra a little confused.

"You went ahead and made it snow without me!" acuses the Snapper.

"Ooohhh, it snowed! Already? Nope, wasn't me."

"But who did it, then?"

"The weather? 'Tis the season after all."

"Oh," Eyjafjallajokull says in a voice much too small for such a large dragon. "But I practiced all summer..."

"Then go out there and make more snow. Or stay here and help me figure out how to fit everybody's favourite ornaments on this woefully tiny tree."

"I can make more snow?"

"So you keep saying. Now stay and help me or go away."




First Snow at the Kommune Gletschersee - 2016


Lemsby, the resident engineer in charge of HVAC (indoors climate control), stares at the winter wonderland the central cavern of the lair has become. Icicles hang from the ceiling, frost grows on outcrops and walls and a layer of snow covers the floor. In the center of the cavern a Tundra and a Snapper circle each other, their gazes directed at the dome of the cave, it's almost as if they were dancing.

"But you two cancel each other out!"

"Well, I AM the avatar of a volcano, I don't have to blaze all the time, I CAN be dormant," replies Eyjafjallajokull.

"You might have mentioned that when you joined us this past summer. I had the devil of a time cooling the lair."

"I didn't know I could do that back then. Nickelklaus has been teaching me."

"And I only moved in last month, remember," the Tundra points out.

"No meddling with my climate control outside of this hall! Just when I finally got everything working properly."

*SPLAT*

A snowball hits Lemsby at the back of his head.

"Oi! No thanks for omitting MY work on our climate control system!" chips in Lichtbogen, the newly promoted electrical engineer.

Shouts of "Snowball Fight!" arise as more and more dragons enter the cave. And then all snow breaks lose...
