Biography

The Unlucky One

When Gavilar came of age as a Guardian dragon in the Plague territory, he eagerly awaited what his Charge would be. He set off on his Search, optimistic of where it would take him.

He did not travel long. He had heard stories of dragons looking nearly their whole life for their Charge, but he stopped well within the Scarred Wasteland.

There, before him, was a tree. It was a mangled and pathetic looking tree, covered with rot and blight, but a tree nonetheless, somehow surviving this far against all odds in the Scarred Wasteland. At first, Gavilar was a bit humbled to see a tree here of all places, but his feelings soon turned to dread. This tree was his Charge.

It did not take long before a passing Plague clan spotted Gavilar and his tree. They taunted him, cursed at him, and soon a fight broke out. Gavilar managed to drive the clan off, finally.

But more returned. A tree in the Plague territory was the very thing Plague dragons stood against. A tree represented life. It represented the Gladekeeper and her lush forests, the very enemy of Plague and the Plaguebringer. Even though as a Guardian, Gavilar could not resist his Charge, he was a traitor.

A war between Gavilar and countless other dragons broke out, and the fighting lasted for days. In the end, Gavilar crawled away with his life, looking over his shoulder as the victorious dragons ripped the tree to pieces.

He dragged himself to the border of the Starfall Isles, where Kokiri's warrior, Agave, found him when she was returning from a battle. She helped him back to the clan, and the clan has since helped Gavilar regain a purpose in life. The large majority of the clan supports Gavilar, but some dragons, like Praskovia who is both a Guardian and a Plague dragon despises him for failing his Charge and backstabbing his flight.
