indentAfter her older brother Maximillion expressed his disinterest in heading the family, preferring to focus on his research, the mantle of heir was passed on to Espresso. However, Espresso, ever a willful child, passed the title to the youngest child, Regent. Espresso never regretted this choice, as it gave her the freedom to pursue her own dreams without shackles.

indentEspresso always liked helping others, especially anonymously or without reward. She always tried to work that into her daily life, as well as her love of coffee, by making special blends of coffees and teas for all the dragons in the lair. Some found it unnerving how she often seemed to know exactly what everyone's personal preferences were (and oddly enough no one ever connected anything to Espresso's friendship with Midnight), but no one could resist Espresso's infectious smile and bright, bubbly demeanor. In fact, many thought that, just by Espresso's selfless care for them, that Espresso might in fact be flirting with them. But when confronted about it, Espresso would simply laugh and neither confirm nor deny anything.

indentIt was often hard to resist any of Espresso's close friends, either. Some often considered the four of them - Espresso, Chantelle, Dust, and Midnight - to be much of what kept the clan smiling some days, each with their own brand of making others happy. Between Espresso's cheerful philanthropy, Chantelle's shameless flirting, Dust's endearing clumsiness and forgetfulness, and Midnight's mischievous tendencies, most of the clan found it hard to stay sad whenever any of them were around.
