Biography
Nero has been compared to the hatchlings that almost always surround him. He is very playful, and can keep himself amused playing fetch with his pearl. He will rarely be found without a smile on his face, and without the time for a game.
Nero will often wake Nimla from her afternoon naps to try and convince her to fight with him. Neither dragon takes these fights seriously, although this is usually because Nimla is still half asleep. Nero is always careful not to hurt Nimla, despite the fact that she is far larger than he.
He received his own wounds playing with an Owlcat that his fighters brought home one afternoon. He usually lies about them to newcomers and guests, telling them he received them in a fight against a Kamaitachi that wandered into his territory that he had to face single-handedly. He dressed himself up with bandages and Runaway Rotclaw parasite to accentuate his wounds. He believes that these make him seem more intimidating. Most of the clan is used to Nero’s ego, although he still manages on occasion to scare the newcomers to the lair.
His carefree nature annoys his daughter, Maeve, to no end. She is Nero’s opposite in many ways, and as a result the two disagree on most things. Nero considers his daughter something of a ‘stick in the mud’, always out to ruin his fun, and Maeve thinks that her father is a hatchling stuck in a dragons body. Despite their differences, however, the two share an incredibly strong bond, and Nero relies on her ability to think on her feet – an ability she learned as the clan’s fighter – to make tough decisions that he finds himself unable to make.
However, he is a caring father to the clan, and always makes himself open for anyone who wants to talk to him. Whenever anyone does approach him with a concern, his playfulness disappears, and he becomes completely serious. This has earned him a lot of respect from the dragons he looks after, although he does find it tiring sometimes. He does not let this show, however, and does his best to keep Nimla's spirits lifted when she is overwhelmed herself.
He will often be found with his Graveyard Guardian close by. The two clearly care deeply for one another, as the enormous bear allows Nero to sleep curled up next to him, something that would end badly for any other dragon who tried.
